Paper and metal is a one-man band consisting of Liam Sanipe who hails from Ottawa, Canada. For the past two years Liam has dropped school, working, and all other priorities in his life, to make room for his true passion: music. He has spent countless hours translating his thoughts and emotions into his music with no other goal other than to express himself, and have people listen.
The results are very rewarding. He has created a strong underground following with university students and 20-somethings throughout Eastern Ontario and Quebec.
Paper and Metal's latest recording is a five song EP called Battles and Storms. This recording shows off Liam’s writing ability with thoughtful lyrics, simple melodies, and progressive instrumentals. Songs such as 'Battles and Storms' and 'Parallel Lines' demonstrate why so many of his fans compare his vocals and acoustic work to Chris Martin from Coldplay. While the songs 'Cities Like Snakes' and Pictures in Frames' reveal such unique electronic and synthesizer work that can only be compared to Radiohead's Kid A album.
