Paper beats Rock

Paper Beats Rock are a 3 piece Alternative Rock band based in Edinburgh. After the departure of the main singer/songwriter , 3/4's of the short lived Raising Miss June decided to continue fighting the good fight and re-emerge as a 3 piece. Paper Beats Rock has grown into a heavier and edgier sound than the initial incarnation. Influences are diverse but include Nirvana, Teenage Fanclub, early GnR, BRMC, Sonic Youth and more. After starting from scratch, some studio time, and band camp we spent 2008 gracing stages in a town near you (well if you live in central Scotland at least.) A well received 3 track demo, championed local gigs in Edinburgh & Glasgow, most notably supporting Blood Red Shoes at The Hive, PBR received their first national airplay on XFMs Music Response. A busy summer ended with us being filmed at The Ark in Edinburgh as part of the Edinburgh Festival. Our set being recorded to DVD and broadcast worldwide on WAM TV. A new 3 track CD has just been recorded and will be available from those with dubious facial hair at our gigs. Standing out from the current trend of disco indie rock, PBR seek to re-introduce music fans to the good times of Rock n Roll to the masses, PBR will be heading North, South, East & West in 2009. You have been warned...
