Biography

Paradise Daze is a three-piece band based out of Nashville, TN. consisting of Matt Daughtry- vox/gtr, Chris Ross- Drums/BGVs and Donnie Green- Bass. Singer Matt Daughtry and drummer Chris Ross have been writing and playing music together since around 1997. They went through many different line-ups and genres of music playing everything from hard-core metal to punk and ska. It wasn't until around 2002- 2003 that they really started writing and crafting their own sound. The band From Down Here with Daughtry, Ross and former bassist Kyle Logan were playing the local Nashville scene, and had even recorded a 5 song demo with local engineer TJ King at his home studio, which was later redone in MTSUs world renowned studios. The band stuck it out for about 2 years but conflict of interest got the best of everyone. After a short hiatus drummer Chris Ross and singer Matt Daughtry got in contact with an old high school buddy who played bass by the name of Donnie Green. It did not take long for the band to realize Donnie was the right guy for the job. The band decided a new name was in order, a few names were thrown around but Paradise Daze stuck out to everyone. Since then the band has recorded its first full length CD titled "Unity is Free" in Springfield, TN at ESP studios with engineer Brandon Cole. The band has been gigging every weekend including a spot at every Vanderbilt Football Game at home for the 2006 season, which was landed by producer Tom Woodard with Earth Rock Entertainment. The band has been talking with Tom Woodard and producer Ray Barnett (produced Billy Deans last 2 albums), also of Earth Rock Entertainment. The band hopes to go on their first tour in the spring and summer of 2007. Paradise Daze has their mind open to all kinds of music, their set list is guaranteed to make you dance. Paradise Daze plays mixture of covers and originals. Covers include a wide range of artist including Sublime, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Tom Petty, 311, Incubus and Bob Marley. Their original material definitely favors all of the artists above with an Alternative Reggae sound. All of the songs are positive and convey messages of peace and happiness unity and freedom.

Lyrics

Eleven Eleven

Written By: Paradise Daze

It's Eleven Eleven in the morning,
The first time I looked at the clock,
So I make a little wish and don't give it much more thought,

Now it's 2:22 in the afternoon,
And I don't know what to think,

(chorus)
Every since you asked me do I make wishes for the little things in life,
It seems like I make wishes all the time,
It seems like I make wishes all the time,

That same night I was walking outside,
And I saw a shooting star,
Another wish to be wished,
Another dream to be dreamed,
Everyday goes by the same thing happens all the time,

(chorus)
Every since you asked me do I make wishes for the little things in life,
It seems like I make wishes all the time,
It seems like I make wishes all the time,

(bridge)
There's always something in life that seems it's to good,
Or something I don't feel I deserve,
But there's nothing to good for myself,
When I've been good to everyone else,

(chorus)
Every since you asked me do I make wishes for the little things in life,
It seems like I make wishes all the time,
It seems like I make wishes all the time,

In the End

Written By: Paradise Daze

Are you ready,
For what's to come,
Are you ready,
For what's to come,

Have you done everything,
Do you feel complete,
Is everyone against you, or is everyone your friend,
The first time you meet?
Did you take the time,
Did you take the time,
Did you take the time to notice,
That the people in the world are all the same,

It don't matter if your black,
It don't matter if your white,
It don't matter if your indian mexican, asian or anything else,
You should treat everyone the same,
cause in the end we're all together in this game,

Are you ready,
For what's to come,
Are you ready,
For what's to come,
Have you tried to make peace,
Or let it get out of hand,
Or did you put everyone down,
And shout out your demands,

(bridge)
Have you respected the earth around you,
Or trashed the ground you walked on,
It's not much longer till the sky's aren't blue,
Soon the world you know will be gone,

Have you respected the earth around you,
Or trashed the ground you walked on,
It's not much longer till the sky's aren't blue,
Soon the world you know will be gone,

So I say,

Are you ready,
For what's to come,
Are you ready,
For what's to come,

Level of a scumbag

Written By: Paradise Daze

We need to pull him down off his high throne,
We need to pull his confidence from his evil soul,
We need to pull him down off his high throne,
Pull his confidence from his evil soul,

(chorus)
So don't let his,
Thoughts of a rich life,
Pull you down,
To the level of a scumbag,
He don't care, About you no,
Your just another dollar in his pocket,

He's just another leader with greed on his mind,
Worrying about himself seems to take up his time,
You pay him all your money with deep regret,
But knowing where it's going you will never forget,
If I could look him in his eyes I'd say look what you've done,
You've ruined everyone's life including your own,

(chorus)
So don't let his,
Thoughts of a rich life,
Pull you down,
To the level of a scumbag,
He don't care, About you no,
Your just another dollar in his pocket,

We need to pull him down off his high throne,
We need to pull his confidence from his evil soul,
We need to pull him down off his high throne,
Pull his confidence from his evil soul,

Raise your head a couple more years everything will be fine,
As long as you put your vote where your mouth is this time,
