"Paradise Daze in the boro"

Paradise Daze

The fellas of Paradise Daze (that would be vocalist and guitar player Matt Daughtry, drummer and background vocalist Chris Ross and bassist Donnie Green) will be high tailing it south from their hometown of Goodlettsville, Tenn. to storm the stage third at Coach's-palooza, before heading back up to Adam, Tenn., later in the day for the annual Tie Dye Festival.

This trio packs a punch with up-to-date reggae sounds and positive messages about unity, happiness, freedom and peace. They’re still riding the wave of their recently released album, Irie Nights, which met the light of day at an Aug. 22 CD release show at Nashville venue Limelight.

Daughtry and Ross are old friends, and have been playing music together for over a decade. The duo found their current groove a few years ago, when they got a hold of an old high school buddy who knew a thing or two about the bass, Donnie Green, and Paradise Daze was born.

These guys credit Sublime, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Tom Petty, 311, Incubus and Bob Marley as folks who heavily influence their sound.

Bio

Paradise Daze is a three-piece band based out of Nashville, TN. consisting of Matt Daughtry- vox/gtr, Chris Ross- Drums/BGVs, Donnie Green- Bass and we are often thankful to have Josh Hines along on Percussion. Singer Matt Daughtry and drummer Chris Ross have been writing and playing music together since 1997. They went through a few different line-ups and genres of music, playing everything from hard-core metal to punk and ska. It was around 2002- 2003 when they really started writing and crafting their own sound. The band From Down Here with Daughtry, Ross and former bassist Kyle Logan were playing the local Nashville scene, and recorded a 5 song demo with local engineer TJ King, which was later redone in MTSU's world renowned studios. The band stuck it out for about 2 years but conflict of interest got the best of everyone. After a short hiatus, drummer Chris Ross and singer Matt Daughtry got in contact with Donnie Green, an old high school buddy who played bass. It did not take long for the band to realize Donnie was the right guy for the job. The band decided a new name was in order, a few names were thrown around but Paradise Daze stuck out to everyone. The band recorded its first demo titled "Unity is Free" in Springfield, TN at ESP studios with engineer Brandon Cole. The band has been gigging every weekend including a spot at every home Vanderbilt Football Game for the 2006 season. Paradise Daze has played many of the more prestigious venues in Nashville including The End, Mercy Lounge, Limelight and Nashville's premiere venue the legendary Exit/In. Paradise Daze recorded their first full length album titled "Irie Nights" in the wonderful Purple Mountain Music studios owned by Mr. John Neil Martin. The new CD was released in August of 08. Paradise Daze has their mind open to all kinds of music, the set list is guaranteed to make you dance. Paradise Daze plays a mixture of covers and originals. Covers include a wide range of artists including Sublime, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Tom Petty, 311, Incubus and Bob Marley. Their original material definitely favors all of the artists above. All of the songs are positive and relay messages of peace, happiness, unity and freedom.
