"New Music Review: PARAE Tinnitus"

Somehow it makes sense that if Punk Rock can get revival after revival, then Post-Punk should be able to as well. PARAE manage to conjure up all the great college radio sounds circa 1981-84 or so when it seemed like Post-Punk would save us all from New Wave. Do you believe in the Westworld? - Pirate Cat Radio (SF)

"Rockin' the El Rio on a Monday Night… with the Domestic Electrics and Parae"

Had the pleasure of watching the Domestic Electrics play at the El Rio in San Francisco last night (with opening band Parae) and I have to say, they brought it! This is their first show since recording the full-length album “The Nowhere Ocean” (free download!), and they did not disappoint. And while PARAE started up the night with enough passion for both bands, they didn’t bring the same crowd enthusiasm as Domestic Electrics—who clearly packed the house with hooting and hollering fans.

Which is saying a lot for a Monday night in Bernal. - Legend Mag

Bio

PARAE as it is now formed in 2008, and consists of Eriq, Jimo, and Tommi.

We are a POST-POP band - we're what happens next; we're what happens after POP.

Our influences are incredibly broad and varied, we do not limit ourselves to one sound or one style. Lately we've been big on Queen and Fugazi.

Earlier in 2010 we self-released a record called TINNITUS, because that’s what Eriq and Jimo acquired from making it. We made it entirely ourselves as we are fiercely independent and probably perfectionists. It's available at bay area record stores, and online at Insound, and various MP3 retailers iTunes and Amazon. When not performing around the SF bay area, we are always writing and recording new music, and are currently releasing monthly free digital singles on our website www.parae.org.

PARAE are currently booking shows for a pacifc west coast tour in January 2011, and have big plans for March and onwards.
