Paragone Park

BandEDM

Imagine for a moment if the Beastie Boys were from the future. Now imagine that their time-machine, which they built themselves from scraps of cardboard and Milky Way wrappers, landed last year in a small farming village in South Eastern Finland. And they recorded an album there with one microphone.

Biography

Caleb and Soren Bjornjork, Finnish twins who emigrated from their Scandinavian homeland in 1999 to begin a new life in the United States, never quite knew what that new life would be like or how that new life would begin. It was a young exchange student from Denmark, Mico Juch, studying economics at Monroe College in the Bronx, who introduced the brothers to American rap music, a form lost to them beneath the influences of heavy metal and the traditional dirges and pub music of Scandinavia. Intrigued and ready to explore something new, Caleb and Soren began experimenting with beat mastering, looping and DJing and soon were actively recording electronic-based songs that naturally blended the simple sampling techniques and hip hop beats of classic rap with the more obscure electronic sounds and heavier gothic and metal sentiments of their native Finland. The result was a creative partnership with Mico Juch, aka MC Juici, and a new sound in the New York music scene.... an entirely new wave of rock-hop electro experimentation.
