Finally an artist with juice and meat arrives on the scene. If you haven't heard the name Paris Bishop yet; you will. And just so that there's no confusion, Paris Bishop is not a man and not really a band. Paris Bishop is the product of singer and poet Josh Allman's imagination. In 2006 Josh Allman took time out and devoted himself to working on not just a demo but a full length album. He named his project Paris Bishop, mixing his tastes for art, travel, style and spirituality. When you listen to Paris Bishop your really not sure where the music is going or what exactly the music is. Is it rock, jazz, funk or blues? The answer is all of the above. Moving effortlessly from one style and mood into the other, the songs on this debut album are volatile. Pages In The Universe is the tile of this wonderful CD. Paris Bishop is singer / poet Josh Allman's idea of what good music is. Blending funky grooves, great hooks, memorable melodies and slick lyrics; Paris Bishop is the epitome of what good old rock and roll is.
Josh Allman explodes on the scene this winter with a monumental debut album appropriately titled "Pages in the Universe".
After failing to find an adequate guitarist in 2006, Josh went on to write, perform and learn guitar parts all on his own. Up to this point, Josh was primarily a keyboard player that played drums and sang. The end result of one year in the studio produced Josh's dream of creating a timeless piece of art. All the songs on Pages in the Universe sound like hits. Paris Bishop just might be what the world has been craving for so so long.
