PARKA's 2012 release „Raus“ („Out“), highly acclaimed by both reviewers and fans, is a loud and crashing, burning debut album. It had been announced at the end of 2011 by their single release „Oben“ - the video clip of which brought them nearly 200,000 views on MyVideo within less than a week and also won them a lot of new fans and followers.
On their first album PARKA depict themselves as part of a generation that is in a constant
struggle to position itself, while at the same time lacking stereotypical concepts and
ideologies to follow. Thus they turn towards their own doubts and wishes, singing about the many ways to look at a high-speed world, presenting itself as well on their smartphone displays and laptops as also rather directly on the streets of their cities. In this way small every-day observations collide with broader existential questions about the ever more complex reality that we all are thrown into.

With a voice somewhere in between euphoria and melancholy, furious outrage and a sigh of surrender, it is the core idea of breaking away that is being negotiated on „Raus" – meaning both a personal catharsis as well as a criticism of the system we live in. Especially the title track "Raus" focusses on the latter - not as an accusal of "the bad society ", but much more as a reflection of the world as a process, which we have to shape and participate in.
And that also is the link to the very private cosmos of all of us. There is no use in waiting for things to change on their own, and sometimes a painful step forwards is better than holding out in an alleged state of safety.
The search for something true, the breaking up of overcome structures, the departure
towards yourself – singer Martin "Fly" Fliegenschmidt pours all these things into lines full of poetry without being pretentious or predictable. But every sigh eventually is torn apart by pulsing basses, every note of suffering sooner or later is challenged by thundering drums. Bass player Gianni Dedola and drummer Raphael Sbrzesny play with extremely many-faceted sounds, their musical ideas break up the usual patterns of rock songs again and again.

The fact that PARKA have been choosing their very own way for over 4 years now, 2 EPs and more than 150 shows, also resulted in the fact that they both recorded and produced their debut album completely on their own. In addition in late September the DVD "PARKA + Gäste – Belagerung der Stadt Rottweil" is being released – a special 2-hour acoustic show, supported by many different guest musicians, such as a specially founded drum-orchestra, a symphonic brass orchestra and many more. Once more it shows the musical qualities and the versatility of the band, containing big epic rock songs as well as vulnerable singer/songwriter tunes and danceable indie-disco tracks.

Also PARKA's song „Besser wenn es brennt“ has been picked by the Telekom, one of the
biggest german companies, for their latest advertisement campaign with german-born
hollywood actress Alexandra Maria Lara. The spot is broadcasted on TV, radio, internet and in movie theatres until the end of 2012.

PARKA's new single „Immer ein für immer“ will be released on October, 28th 2012.
