Bio

Originally birthed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Park N Murray is a musical duo of siblings Branden Rex and Damien Kyle Jr. Both of their talents began to make an impact on their lives at an early age. Damien Kyle, as a teenager, had just finished touring the nation as a guitarist for a metal band. Branden Rex, the eldest, had musical and performance arts talents as well. However, he decided to forego music and pursue a basketball career as a highly touted athlete at the University of Wisconsin.

During this period, Rex and his younger brother spent a majority of their time at parties at their legendary campus dorm on the corner of Park Place and Murray Avenue. The parties ended abruptly when their parents were relocated by their employers to San Antonio, Texas. In a totally new environment, the brothers had to start fresh. They both decided to create music and put together a 5 member band. Vowing to take a piece of the history and memories from Milwaukee with them, they named the band "Park N Murray". The rest is history.

After a brief stay in San Antonio, Texas, they decided to move an hour north to the music capital, Austin, Texas. The band's unique style began to make immediate buzz and they were booked frequently around town. Aware that their band members would eventually relocate for other career opportunities, Branden and Damien stayed in Austin and continued to make music. For them, it was all or nothing.

They recorded and released their first EP entitled "Race Music" in the fall of 2010 and began performing as a duo all over town. Their catchy choruses, bouncy flows, and confident voices show in every track and quickly made the ears of even less than hip hop fans perk up. Their appealed to a diverse demographic of students and working class individuals. Soon, the non-fictional lifestyles that they delivered through their music began to crete a cult following. They've opened up for a handful of mainstream artists as well as local phenoms and, in what seems like over night ordeal, have become a household name in the city of Austin.

The two started their own clothing brand/promotional team, Calm Child Lifestyles.  The brand embodies not only unique threads that can be seen all over town, but a variety of lifestyles promoting empowerment and freedom. They provide a lot exposure and opportunities for other artists by booking only local and regional talent for the events they host. They currently host a monthly event at The Bat Bar in downtown Austin and are being booked to perform and host at countless other events around Texas.

Their most recent milestones for Summer 2013:
-A live performance in front of thousands of fans on the 2013 Vans Warped tour at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.
-They made two tour stops with Red Bull Soundstage artist "Zeale".
-They were also the first hip hop artists invited to perform at a private event held at the new Circuit of the Americas track in Austin.

Community:
Park N Murray is always looking for ways to make a positive impact on the community. They recently (Sept 19, 2013) held a benefit show for St Jude's Hospital and hosted a "Toys for Tots" donation show in December 2012. In an effort to make music a platform for other performing arts, Park N Murray has hosted weekly and monthly opportunities for entertainers and artists to showcase their talents the Park N Murray's events.

Social Acceptance and Recognition:
Park N Murray has been featured twice in the popular college magazine, Study Breaks, with a full page article and a cover spot promoting their new album. They have recently landed Hip Hop Spotlight interviews with FYI Houston, So-Gnar Shredded Beats Tour, NDMPIRE, KAZI FM 88.7's Untapped Show, Internet radio and many more. They have also been featured on several blog spots and online reviews around the web. Their single, "No Lo", was recently fully featured on the soundtrack to So-Gnar's Extreme Sports Documentary "The Good, the Bad, and the Gnarly"….

Park N Murray released their debut studio album "Mixed Feelings" April 2, 2013, on iTunes and other online stores. Their new singles "Move On", "Broke on the Boulevard", and "No Lo" have been receiving a ton of positive feedback from their current and new fans. They are currently coordinating a Calm Child Lifestyles Texas Tour for this Fall. Park N Murray has been hard at work promoting their new music and brand and hope to bring the party to you soon!
