"Review of album"

Faster than stain udkom før jul under kunstnernavnet Parsley Music.

Hendes ord former sig som en slags stream-of-consciousness isprængt klare bønfaldende sentenser som “Give me a whole new mind cause this one is fucked/give me some wood for my fire cause this one is cold…”

So in your palm my heart lie/treat it with love or I’ll die”.

"ParsleyMusic press release"

Cecilie Svendsen / ParsleyMusic

”Faster the stain”

Out on the 15th November 2010 on Calibrated Music

She has been compared to Nora Jones and Tom Waits. Now ready with her long awaited debut album ''Faster the stain’’ which has 10 of her own compositions on. In a floating universe of pop, jazz and folk.

The colorful singer has loved music all her live. She started out at the age of 14, in the company of an electric guitar, which she found in an old deserted house, with singing and composing her own songs. At the age of 21 the dedicated singer moved to London to study at the London Music Institute. Here she meet a lot of interesting people, who just like her wanted to play music. Through the years she has played a lot of concerts in many different bands.

In London Cecilie moved around a lot. At a time she stayed at an uninsulated house boat on the river Thames. Here the nights where cold and she had to sleep with all her clothes on, under layers of duvets and blankets, to keep away the cold. One summer she went away to Denmark for a short period. Meanwhile she had placed all her belongings at a friend’s place, not knowing they had moved in the meantime and placed all of her stuff with the local greengrocer. What they didn’t know was, that the greengrocer had put all her stuff on the street and when Cecilie returned, pictures was flying around and homeless had emptied all the black bags for what they could use.

Now returned to Denmark after 11 turbulent and eventful years in London a split from her boyfriend and a whole new start in Copenhagen, it has become a very moving album with 10 unbelievable beautiful and very personal songs that portray the lonely love and the impossible lust.

It appears strongly in the song Broken flower that describes a stormy infatuation in another person who can’t include her vulnerable and uncompromising personality:”I brought tears in a can for a man, and the ground on where we stand is made of pebbles. And the light in his eyes where the brightest of lights, in a man made of pebbles.”

You can look forward to a soulful and engrossing album from the beautiful singer, out on the 15th November 2010 on Calibrated Music.

On the record:

Nicolai Elsberg - vocal, Henrik Jensen - Bass,

Jacob Quistgaard - Guitars, Arthur Lea - Keys, Jon Scott - Drums.

''Faster the stain'' is recorded live at Cowshed Studio in London- mixed and mastered by Joe Leach. - knoklmanagement

Bio

She has been compared with Nora Jones and Tom Waits. Imagine a voice, infected with Billie Holiday's excoriation, paired with a drop of psychedelic consciousness expansion a la Grace Slick, emphasized parts of Ani DeFranco, and Rickie Lee Jones. No, right? But it is nevertheless such Cecilie Svendsen sounds like. Not for that reason not sounding like herself. Cecilie Svendsen sounds as if She means it. The disturbing and obsessive thing is that as a listener, you want to follow her.

The colorful singer has loved music all her live. She started out at the age of 14, in the company of an electric guitar, which she found in an old deserted house, with singing and composing her own songs. Now returned to Denmark after 11 turbulent and eventful years in London a split from her boyfriend and a whole new start in Copenhagen, she is slowly taking not only Denmark, also Sweden and Iceland, by storm.

The song Broken flower, describes a stormy infatuation in another person who can’t include her vulnerable and uncompromising personality:”I brought tears in a can for a man, and the ground on where we stand is made of pebbles.
