"Yardflex review"

"Known for her stunning good looks, catchy sing along hooks and her witty wordplay, Pashon is cementing her place as a bonafide star in the music biz." - Yardflex.com

"Achis Reggae review"

"Unlike many of the children of famous big time artists, Pashon doesn’t seem to have been bothered at all by the rather lofty expectations heaped upon her by half the source of her blood lines and has been afforded (or afforded herself) the opportunity to GROW and MATURE as an artist. The result is an artist who is very confident in herself and her talents. Her sound is well mature, but not stale and mechanical and, generally, equally very interesting and simply well done." - Achis Reggae

Bio

BIOGRAPHY: PASHON MINOTT (formerly known as Fire Pashon)

Jamaica’s rich musical history has often been characterized by large musically oriented families. There is currently a female progeny of a prominent performer making her mark on the international music scene - Pashon Minott - the daughter of late reggae legend Lincoln “Sugar” Minott. Saucy, spirited and bubbling with energy, Pashon’s lively performances come naturally as a part of her personality. She has a strong CD out on The Black Roots label called Flames, which has gotten a lot of radio play in Jamaica, and the follow-up album Mek It Inna Life is due to be released in the summer of 2010 on the Irie Sounds International label.

Born Tamar Minott in Kingston, Jamaica, Pashon’s exposure to the music world began at a tender age in the stimulating atmosphere of her father’s fame and high profile. Her father, Sugar Minott, owned and operated a recording studio, and also owned a prominent sound system called Youthman Promotion. Growing up in this environment gave Pashon the opportunity to get to know and witness the spawning ground of artists such as Junior Reid, Yami Bolo, Tenor Saw, Tony Rebel and Garnett Silk. Early exposure to the music business and the entertainment world helped to nurture and build her knowledge and skills as an artist. Pashon was born in the business.

At age eight, she recorded her first single, Reggae the Beat with her brothers and younger sister. Continuing to record, she voiced a song on the Chrome riddim entitled Real Fire Woman. The video release for this song received rave reviews and a lot of play. A linkup with Dancehall’s award winning producer Jah Snow Cone brought her significant success in 2005, when she recorded the song Dem Grudgeful, on his Applause Riddim. This song catered to more of a mainstream market, and was another great hit. As her radio spins increased, so did her recognition. This led to another video being produced shortly thereafter. In 2009, she recorded Mek It Inna Life for producer James "Dr Suess" Lord, which was featured prominently on Itunes in Europe for a month, and reached #6 on the Guam reggae charts. Another recent single is Fire Keep Blazing Hot, an anthem about Pashon's persistance in the reggae business.

No stranger to the stage, Pashon has performed on many shows worldwide, including Sting, Reggae Sumfest, Sashi, CME, Reloaded, East Fest and Spectrum in Jamaica, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival and The Sonoma Valley Green Music Festival, also in California, Irie Jamboree in New York, and Reggae X-Plosion in Japan. She recently toured England in November 2009. She has done numerous charity shows for worthy causes in Jamaica and abroad. Talented, beautiful and determined, Pashon comes with a conscious message to inspire the people of the world. This high-spirited Aries attributes her success to the positive influences of great artists such as her father Sugar Minott, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Wayne Wonder, Sister Carol and Lauren Hill. She consistently expresses uplifting themes of heartfelt love and unity in her music. Without a doubt, Pashon is one of the best female reggae artists in the business.
