PASSION

After exploring several venues in the music industry, Detroit born, Lansing raised, Michigan native PASSION (Jessica Washington) has embarked on a fast paced solo performing career. Her first solo alum, entitled REDEYE, was released at the end of October, 2010. This followed on the heels of her October 16, 2010 performance and receipt of the Platinum Performance Award at the 2010 Las Vegas Music Awards show!

PASSION displayed a natural talent and love for music as a very young child. In elementary school she began piano and dance lessons and also participated in local choirs. By junior high school she was captivated by rap and hip hop music. During that time she adopted the stage name PASSION, a true reflection of her energy and drive; and began creating music beats, writing lyric and performing at every available opportunity. In addition to the piano and keyboards, she also learned to play the saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, and guitar.

PASSION was exposed to and enjoyed music of all types, from country western to classical, gospel, R & B and rap. Consequently, among the entertainers she identifies as having most influenced her are Lauren Hill, Tupac, Wyclef, Jay Z, Janet Jackson, Missy Elliot, Beyonce, Madonna, Tina Turner and the “whole Motown family!”

Other influential people who she greatly appreciates are her recently departed grandmother, whom she loved dearly, and her Aunt Sheryl. However, her greatest influence has been her mother who has always been a positive role model and best friend; and now as her manager continues to nurture, support and encourage her creative pursuits. She is thankful to them and above all to God for the talent and blessings He has placed in her life.

PASSION has relentlessly continued to utilize her creativity and skills through developing music and lyrics in other various genres, working in music studios and production companies in St. Louis, Missouri and Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as through academic pursuits in music management and music engineering at colleges in Lansing and Las Vegas, where she has resided since 2007.

PASSION has performed at numerous night club and events in several cities across the country and appeared in music videos and movies shot in Detroit and Las Vegas. She previously performed as a member of the rap duo, D-Girlz and the dance ensemble, Tha Klick.

PASSION is currently working on her second album that will feature a variety of vocals in addition the hip hop and rap of her first album. She is also owns an online radio variety program, “Rock Candy Radio” and soon be debuting an online magazine, also titles Rock Candy, “for those between Seventeen and Cosmopolitan”
