Bio

Pastel Soucy Gagné was born on January 1985 in a small village called Huberdeau, located in the region of Laurentides,Quebec. She is the youngest of two female siblings, brought up in a family that valued naturalistic and post-hippie ideoligies as a way of living. In her upbringing, music & arts had always been part of the family - Her Father a Blues musician, and Mother a long time painter.

At the age of 19 Pastel had her mind set on travelling and packed her bags for England. Immersing herself in the grandiose of parks and numerous museums in London - the lifestyle and culture had ovewhelmed Pastel and inspired her to start writing songs in English. A year later - She then moves to Los angeles,California to persue her dream as a singer/songwriter. she began recording her first album "Painting Fears" in the Sound City Studio where such artists like Nirvana and even The Beatles have recorded. However, after a few months in Los Angeles - Pastel found herself in a struggle to make a living there and made her return to Montreal,Canada to finish recording the album and get signed to a label. After a few meetings with record labels she then meets René Moisan of Disques Bros who became intrigued by her sound and set her up to do live opening acts for artists Bob Walsh, Vincent Vallières and Sylvain Cossette. With that Pastel built her experience on stage and set herself up for a short European tour to promote the album in France,Belgium and in Holland. In 2010, Pastel was appraoched by Karina Hammond of ProHammond Managment who was quite moved by her fresh sound and style as a singer/song-writer. Together they worked out a deal to get more of her music recorded and with that came the birth of her second album ''Under my headphones'.The album blends Pop, Folk, and Reggae together in which Pastel truly feels reflects her as a person and her musical passion in every sense of the word. As a musician, she has a deep appreciation for bringing many cultures together musically, in which she tributes herself to get accross to the public with her new album.
