Bio

As guitarist/singer/songwriter for New Grass Revival, Pat, along with Sam Bush, John Cowan and Bela Fleck, influenced many of today's pop and country artists while building their own loyal audience to near cult status. Attesting to the group's continuing popularity and influence, Capitol Records re-released all NGR CDs in remastered editions last year.

During his tenure with NGR, Pat was voted 'Best Acoustic Guitarist' five years in a row by FRETS magazine's National Readers Poll. For winning five years in a row, Pat was inducted into FRETS 'Gallery Of Greats' alongside Doc Watson, Chet Atkins and Tony Rice.

Pat has been a session guitarist on over 300 CD projects, including 26 Gold/Platinum records with a wide array of top artists (see discography). Included in Pat's work in the studio are several CMA and Grammy award winning projects, the latest being Randy Travis' "Rise and Shine" CD, and Lee Anne Womack's "I Hope You Dance".

Pat wrote and performed on Garth Brook's hit single "Do What You Gotta Do".

Pat has developed role as producer in the last couple of years, with up and coming acts such as Crucial Smith, Alan Thornhill, Cadillac Sky and Candace Corrigan.

Pat is a featured artist on the "Nashville Acoustic Sessions" CD project, with Raul Malo, Rob Ickes and Dave Pomeroy, on CMH Records. This is currently among the top 5 most added CDs on the Americana radio chart.

Pat is also a featured player on The Greencards and the Derailers CDs, both of which have achieved Top10 ranking on the Americana radio chart.

Pat's first solo CD project, entitled 'reQuest', is now available from www.echomusic.com, and will be released nationally in May. Appearing with Pat on this project are Bela Fleck, John Cowan, Rob Ickes, Stuart Duncan, Jim Hoke, Buddy Greene and others.

Pat will be doing many performance dates this year, partnering with artists such as John Cowan, Darrell Scott, Buddy Greene, Tim O'Brien, Stuart Duncan, The Greencards and others at festivals and showcase stages.
