In today’s world of corporate controlled entertainment, companies continue to pump out cookie cutter music by the dozens. Now it is rare that you come across a hip-hop group who are willing to push the envelope to the edge of their creative abilities. Artists would rather stick to a prepared script given to them by their corporate entities. That is why so many groups sound alike.
One of those rare hip-hop groups is called Pathfindaz. Their unique blend of music comes from a variety of personal experiences and creative ability. As individuals, they are distinctive in their own style and character, which brings about a perfect blend in their music.
Pathfindaz consist of two members. Up first, Brian Shelton aka “B-Skillz” he was born in East Orange, New Jersey August 20, 1978. If you ask him what does “B-Skillz” means, he will confidently tell you that his skills are
“a demonstration of God’s gift within.” Of Course, the B stands for Brian. During his free time he enjoys acting and sports, but his favorite hobby is producing new music. Besides all of this and his love for music nothing matters to him than his belief in God. He knows that all gifts come from Him.
Well, that’s “B-Skillz” Let’s talk about “Bonze.”
“Bonze,” aka Leroy R. Doctor, was born in Marion, Indiana but on June 18, 1979. He also resides in New Jersey. When asked where did Bonze come from he will tell you “He was skinny as a child so everyone from the hood called him “Bonze.” Leroy says with a smile that he “enjoys making money, counting money and spending money.” He also says, “forget what you’ve been told, I’m the fastest rapper and I’m ready to battle whenever.” Besides making music and money he also has a strong belief in God. Their faith makes them two gifted individuals. One thing is for sure; they are here to change the game.
Their debut album “Universal Rhythms” clearly demonstrates all of the above and then some. If you ask Pathfindaz why they chose “Universal Rhythms” as the title of their debut album, they will tell you that it best describes their versatility and creativity.
Pathfindaz are making a clear path to the hearts and minds of the hip-hop culture. It’s time to change the game.
