Bio

Pat Hunter was born and raised in Muscle Shoals, Al-a town that is steeped in musical history and is renowned for recording the likes of Aretha Franklin, Duane Allman, Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, Bob Seger, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jimmy Buffett and many more.
He acquired a natural talent for music from both his mother and father. His dad John Hunter was an accomplished country vocalist who recorded in the 50's as well as performing on 2 radio stations in Middle Tennessee on a regular basis. Helen Hunter was harmony and backup singer and was always the most supportive and influential person in regards to Pat's music.
Pat started writing songs at the age of 13 and it has always been a part of his life- even though other business pursuits have taken him down different paths at various times in his life.
He started playing the guitar at 14 years old and has since continued with the guitar and keyboard. He has just this past year taken up playing slide guitar.
His influences in songwriting are varied and include Jackson Browne, Willie Nelson, James Taylor, Merle Haggard, Larry Jon Wilson and Tom Waits to name a few.
Individually and as a part of multiple bands Pat has had the privilege of opening for acts such as John Anderson, Colin Raye and Tom Kimmel just to name a few. He was featured in Fall 2006 in a regional magazine featuring musicians, artists and fashion designers on the rise.
After many years of pursuing other interests and songwriting as a sideline, Pat decided to fulfill a life long dream of cutting an acoustic album. This past year he and his wife moved to Middle Tennessee where they built a studio apartment over a barn that houses their 6 horses, 5 rescue dogs and 2 cats. It has been a year of transforming music into the main focus of their lives rather than a sideline.
This album titled "12/23" includes 6 of his original songs and the collection is rounded out with 5 cover songs by some of the aforementioned writers. This album is a road map of a true singer songwriter and reflects a passion for music in its purest form.
The album "12/23" is set for release in April 2010.
