Biography

I'm Pat J. Peterson. I'm a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter who was recently voted as one of the top four guitarists on Madison Magazine. My songs have been honored by national song writing contests and my vocal style has been compared to Bradley Nowell, Sting, Daryl Hall, and more.

During my performing, I've been known to be very diverse in song choices according to the audience. My audience has included town mayors and top university professors as well as crowds of feet stomping high school and college students. My regular performance rotations include venues such as BLU in the Milwaukee Pfister Hotel and I play a wide array of WI festivals opening up for bands including The Beach Boys.

I've formed and fronted cover bands and original based bands including an energetic indie pop rock band called Avengers Assemble and a "regional legendary" funk/rock/reggae group called The Pipe Circus.

I've had too much experience to list including endless venue performances, touring 15+ states, 100+ festivals (including Taste of Madison and Summerfest), TV appearances (including Jenny Jones and 7 John Urban Theater appearances), concert event appearances, local awards, radio interviews and much much more.

My performance has been considered passionate, intimate, energetic, even quoted as "over the top". I've been a private guitar instructor in my area and I have an agency called Innabeat Music & Entertainment.

Long Road (coming soon)

Written By: Pat J. Peterson

Long Road

It’s sometimes hard to claim
That I’ve been a good man when it comes to you
I hope that I can change
Though I can’t take back what I’ve put you through

Rolling like a circus train on the road
I just want to call and let you know
(That) I want to thank you for giving me another chance

It feels like a long road to Heaven
And through it all, you’ve been a lover and a friend
Through the good and the bad
You gave everything you had
On this long, long road I’ll be there

I sometimes had to feel
Just a little reckless and without a care
And people keep telling me
That I’ve got to look around and find what’s out there

And every time I turn around
Somebody seems to put you down
(But) I want to thank you for being strong enough to care

It feels like a long road to Heaven
And through it all, you’ve been a lover and a friend
Through the good and the bad
You gave everything you had
On this long, long road I’ll be there
I’ll be there … (bridge progression)

Though I don’t deserve your love
I’ll give you everything I can
On this long, long road
If you’re all alone
On this long, long road I’ll be there, I’ll be there … (END)

Happy Endings

Written By: Pat J. Peterson

Happy Endings

I’m not myself these days; I can’t tell you why I’ve treated you this way
I know I’ve caused you pain

Maybe I’m afraid of losing something I held dear in this charade
But with you I had it made

I never should have thrown your heart away

If I could do it all again, I’d never leave your side
Every now and then, just on a whim, we’d leave this world behind
Into a blazing sunset we would ride
Just like all those happy endings
Into a blazing sunset we would ride

I wish that I could say how beautiful you are in so many different ways
I couldn’t list them in a day

And sometimes I’m amazed that you don’t realize you transcend timeless grace
When a smile is on your face

I should have said these things along the way

If I could do it all again, I’d never leave your side
Every now and then, just on a whim, we’d leave this world behind
Into a blazing sunset we would ride
Just like all those happy endings
Into a blazing sunset we would ride

We could walk on the horizon, gazing into one another’s eyes
Or slow dance in the moonlight, as a piano softly plays “As Time Goes By”

If I could do it all again, I’d never leave your side
Every now and then, just on a whim, we’d leave this world behind
Into a blazing sunset we would ride
Just like all those happy endings
Into a blazing sunset we would ride …
