Do coco a Cocteau Twins. - Lauro Lisboa Garcia

Bio
One of the most important voices of Sergipe music of all times, the singer-songwriter Patricia Polayne has in her work, references ranging from the oral tradition of Tropicalia, the coconut to the Cocteau Twins, Latin music with Afro-Brazilian rhythms.
The musical style reinvented by the award-winning artist is the result of a unique and distinctive work of research and experience with the sounds of her region. The combination between these rhythms and other elements of the universal music results in songs and images that make up a delicate and appreciated original work.
When Polayne was contemplated with the “Pixinguinha Project Award”, she recorded his first album "O Circo Singular" (The Singular Circus) with impeccable production of Junior Areia, bassist of the band Mundo Livre S/A, and the special contribution of the MPB musician Roberto Menescal. She released the CD in November 2009 in a circus that was placed in Sergipe’s capital, then at the Campus of the Federal University of Sergipe and the finally at the historic city of Laranjeiras.
On the next month she was selected to perform two concerts in the Circuit “Conexão Vivo Off”, at the Brazil Music Market, in Recife, Pernambuco.
Recently, the artist won the National Festival of Music ARPUB (Association of Public Radios in Brazil) that took place in January 2010. She received the award for best arrangement and best song with the unreleased song "Arrastada", one of the tracks on the new disk.
The movement Patricia Polayne is producing truthfully represents her generation, because it has its own language, maturity and artistic quality to port, to be well received and resized in this competitive market, where the trend to "more of the same” is yielding to strength that the music has to transform its time.
