 Boulder, Colorado, USA
BandJazzAcoustic

Acoustic piano music composed in the jazz idiom. I also perform standard classical repertoire.

Biography

I write and perform acoustic piano music and songs. In the song writing I have done, some have original lyrics and others are collaborations with other lyricists. Although I have an album of original ragtime piano pieces as well as a few improvisational cd's, more recently I have been writing in the jazz idiom. I have been a piano teacher for fifty years - always doing a lot of playing and composing along the way. I have a Bachelor of Music Ed and Master of Music (in piano performance) from the University of Colorado. I was born and grew up in a small town in Central Montana.

This is an instrumental (acoustic piano) track, so no lyrics here. This would be more suitable for a calm, ethereal mood.

Also on the recording are twenty-seven "mini-rags".....some with only two voices and reminiscent of the Bach 2-part Inventions. Some tracks from Boulder Rags and Ragtime Miniatures have been used on NBC, E! Network, Bravo, VH1 and the Travel Channel.
Songs for Seniors - with lyricist the late Maria Rogers, these sixteen songs address aging issues in a fun, poignant way
Jazz Images - this one is all composed music (as opposed to improvisational), classical in structure, but uses jazz rhythms and harmonies throughout.
