Biography

New Release: Four Faces Includes the Rock-house Gospel “Reawakened"

PALO ALTO, California March 2017

The newest EP from Singer/Songwriter Patrick Ames features the artist on a MIDI guitar synthesizer playing the piano and soprano saxophone via his Gibson Hummingbird. From the Gospel-driven, political revival "Reawakened,” to the skip-down-the-sidewalk "This Small Town", Ames’ new EP is full of surprises.  His two backup singers are full-throated and in rare form for this 2017 wake-up reminder call about Ames’ “Indie music.”

“Four Faces” has four songs inspired by the EP’s featured artwork by his older brother, “Opa”. The songs, like the cover art, are as different as they are similar.  The MIDI allows Ames to apply his percusive guitar playing to the piano, and what emerges is the artist sounding like a student of Monk. Same for the soprano saxaphone.

The singer/songwriter is writing and performing the best music of his lifetime. His day gig as a book editor and publisher only boisters the simple authenticy of his lyrics: crafted but creative.

Four Faces = 4 Tracks:

1. “Reawakened” —  The rockhouse gospel and #1 Track on the EP. Think Sly and the Family Stone.

2. “The Lonely Lie So Easily” — Down-tempo foggy SF nightish. Features a MIDI trio: piano, bass, and sax.

3. “The Meaning of Life” — Quirky, off-beat, indie, yet wholistic sounding. Haiku-like lyric structure.

4. “This Small Town” — Up beat, walk-down-the-sidewalk-whistling song. Happy as a small town.

Four Faces is available in all outlets starting March 1, 2017. Four Faces = $4.

The force of good it has been reawakened
The Force of good it has been it’s been reawakened
The hour has come for the power of belief
That the good in us all /is about to be released
The force of good has been reawakened

Don’t be fooled by the lies in the tweets
Don’t be cajoled by politicians on TV
Don’t be silent about dividing families
Because the good in us all / is about to be released

Reawakended, reawakened, reawakened
The force of good it has been reawakened

Don’t be shy about your equality
Don’t be quiet when they fence in the free
Don’t be violent when they interrupt the peace
Because the good in us all / is about to be released

Reawakended, reawakened, reawakened
The force of good it has been reawakened

The hour has come for the power of belief
That the good in us all / is about to be released
The hour has come for the power of belief
That the good in us all / is about to be released

The force of good it has been reawakened
The Force of good it has been reawakened

Are you reawoke?
