Bio

Songwriter Patrick Dodd has followed in the footsteps of the old folk writers, but with a contemporary eclectic style. Folk, funk, folk/rock, rock, bluegrass, blues... Patrick is not confined by one genre. His lyrics are well-crafted and often rise to the level of Dylan, while his heart stays grounded in the struggles for justice. Patrick's music educates, empowers, and inspires. But, Patrick’s music is not for clear channel. If you want mainstream music, look elsewhere. Patrick’s music is well crafted, but controversial. Patrick does not pull punches when swinging the sward of truth. A sticker on Woodie’s guitar read, “this machine kills fascists"; an officer of the law once told Patrick, “Son I do not want to arrest you, but I have to arrest that guitar,” Guess Woodie was right. Music can kill fascists, if we only allow the poets their voice. Enjoy well crafted musical sounds of resistance.
