Eight years ago, while living on the Isle of Sylt (Germany) and writing his graduation portfolio for Berklee College of Music, Patrick Walters was confronted with the dilemma of finding authentic self-expression within the traditional, linear structures of classical music.
Inspired by his daily meditation practice, Patrick began to find himself musically within the non-linear, serial forms of 20th Century composer Anton Webern, whose brief, poignant orchestral works have often been compared to pointalistic paintings. The impressionistic piano music of Claude Debussy as well as "fusion-era" works of Miles Davis were also major influences on Patrick's thought and musical direction at this time.
Patrick's music has since evolved into what he calls "cinematographic descriptions of single moments in time." These moments are rich in texture, imagery and feeling. His music is profoundly experiential and evocative, bringing to life fleeting, everyday moments with incredible lucidity and power.

In addition to composing and recording, he is a guitar instructor at the Canadian Conservatory of Music in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
