Bio

BIOGRAPHY:

Pat Roberts (lead vocals, guitars and composer) from Prescott, AZ, embraces Rock & Roll at 15. Starting with the bass, he played all the clubs on Whiskey Row right out of high school. To a ranch kid, it was pretty much “the big time”! He is later recruited by The Llory McDonald Band, and then moves to Phoenix, an even “bigger big time”, opening for Deep Purple at The Celebrity Theater.

After playing in different bands in Phoenix and San Diego, Pat found himself in Country music and on guitar. Joining several bands with Phoenix Rockabilly legends Bruce Hamblin and Mario Moreno, with whom The Haymakers were first formed, Pat foundes Pat Roberts and The Heymakers. They have opened shows for The Blasters, Junior Brown, Dave Alvin, Los Straightjackets, and The Derailers, earning respect for being “the real thing”.

In 2011, Pat reunites Paul Thomas, the sought upright-bassist (who recorded with the heaviest hitters of the Blues World as Bo Diddley, Ike Turner, Kim Wilson, Jimmy Rodgers…) and the drummer Ed Michaels (who notably recorded and toured nationally and internationally with Grammy and Handy Award winners Alvin Youngblood Hart, and Roy Rogers and The Delta Rhythm King).

2011: 1ST ALBUM RELEASE, « LONESOME AND BLUE »

After years being on the road, Pat Roberts' signature voice is known to be an Arizona staple. His echo-drenched twangy guitar playing, mixed with his impeccable rhythm section is tailored to swoon the most recalcitrant audience.
This new album of true-and-tested numbers represents the band under its best of light: as themselves, embarked on a recording adventure with Electric Lotus Label.

The result is stunning, faithful to its influences (Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams,…) yet still bearing its own compass. A collector’s record to anyone who appreciates elegant and authentic music.
