Paul Alexander creates Alternative/Electronic music with driving rhythms, embedding his productions with heart-felt lyrical wisdom and solid advice to captivate the minds of his listeners, with the intention of inspiring them to make their lives better.

Biography

Euphoria, love, broken-heartedness, abandonment, and a hard-nosed stance toward life are major themes that Paul Alexander builds upon in his debut CD, "Place With Life," which includes songwriting influences of the in-depth feelings often written about in Billy Corrigan's and Perry Farrell's songs to the melodies and sounds of artists like Depeche Mode, Enigma, and Dead Can Dance. But these songs are all Paul's own. In fact, this album is (largely) a look at his own life in the last 3 years, as well as the lives of people who are (or at one time, were) important to him, or influenced him in an important way. Paul shares the wisdom he has gathered in his own life in a meaningful way with you. Although these are his experiences, they could very well (and very likely at some point) be your own.

For example, in featured songs like: "Your Guide for Once," Paul talks about the time(s) we have all faced when we want someone to come back who has either left or has never given their own feelings a chance. It can be even more painful to realize that the person(s) you care about are ignoring their own feelings more than your own. At times like these, we need to look within and motivate ourselves to rise to new levels of belief and awareness that we control our own lives and destinies. Paul illustrates these important points in his new album, intentionally adding his own personal knowledge, and reminding people that developing some type of spiritual awareness in their lives (even if it is not necessarily "religious") will always see them through.

Paul Alexander's introspective journey reminds us that our lives are made up of hundreds of different elements, issues, trials, and tribulations. Paul reminds us that we control our own lives and destinies, as well as determine what we make of them.

Movin' to California

Written By: Paul Alexander

Movin’ to California
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa
Move cuz’ I adore her
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa

Movin’ to California
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa
Move cuz’ I adore her
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa

My feet are groovin’ cuz’ I’m movin’ to a place with life
On top of the nation, inspiration makes it out of sight
I’m feelin’ groovy like the movies I’ve seen with my friends
The one where the hero grabs the girl and then the movie ends

Come with me, I want you here with me right by my side
Set me free, I’m thirsty for your heart, I’ll quench it right
Could it be that I am young and drift along the shore?
Let it be, they tried to stop me once or twice, no more…

I’m Movin’ to California
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa
Move cuz’ I adore her
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa

The fever is burnin’ and I’m yearnin’ for the sun-drenched coast
A whole lot of shakin’, was I waken’ by a passing boat?
We’re free to be so young and have our dreams along the shore
They tried to stop us once or twice, I can’t take it no more…

I’m Movin’ to California
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa
Move cuz’ I adore her
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa (repeat * 1)

I don’t skip a beat when I’m groovin’ down the street
I don’t stop until I’m feelin’ fine
So whatever you do, better know I speak the truth
And don’t forget about your bottom line

Cuz’ ain’t it funny how the money, it’s so scummy,
Hope it’s not the only reason that your phone will ring,
Cuz’ if it’s true, you’ve been screwed, and I only say to you
You’d better stop until you hear me sing…

I’m Movin’ to California
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa
Move cuz’ I adore her
Ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa ooh whoa (echo, then FADE)

Sacred Room

Written By: Paul Alexander

I can’t believe I have you in my room
I can’t believe what we’re about to do
Cuz’ all those nights I prayed I never knew
Our voices would soon join when you prayed too

Whisper your desires and fantasies
Whisper as you lay right next to me
Kiss me as we drift beyond the sea
Floating on a raft of ecstasy

I can’t believe I have you in my room
I can’t believe what we’re about to do
Cuz’ all those nights I prayed I never knew
Our voices would soon join when you prayed too

I can’t believe I have you in my room
I can’t believe what we’re about to do
Cuz’ all those nights I prayed I never knew
Our voices would soon join when you prayed too

Fuel me as we burn by candlelight
I’m drunk with lust upon this magic night
Could it be that I will not lose sight?
Lose sight of love if I am filled with fright

Ask me how I know you’ll soon betray
My dedication once it’s on display
Cuz’ often that’s the price I’ve had to pay
For sharin’ all my feelings much too late
Too late

I can’t believe I have you in my room
I can’t believe what we’re about to do
Cuz’ all those nights I prayed I never knew
Our voices would soon join when you prayed too (Repeat *1, then FADE)

The Finish Line

Written By: Paul Alexander

I was sitting on the floor
Thinking how I wanted more
I was sitting on the floor
Thinking how I wanted more
Today, today

And I dreamed it in my head
From a book that I had read
And it lingered in my head
as I jumped right out of bed
to play, today

I knew I wanted more
I wasn’t happy with the score
All the words I could not say
were staring me right in the face

and they said don’t confuse your love with hate
Start right now it’s not too late so
Move Boy, it’s time to go, your life is here
You need to go

And reach right up into the sky, you’ll find success
Just use your mind
And use your mind

And if you fall, you will not break,
If you fall, you will not break
It won’t be more than you can take,
It won’t be more than you can take

Before you know, you’re feeling fine
Don’t worry bout’ the finish line

I was sitting on the floor
feeling angry to the core
I was sitting on the floor
feeling angry to the core
yesterday, oh yeah, yesterday

And I was dreaming all alone
of the day I left my home
I was dreaming all alone
of the day I left my home
far away, oh yeah, to L.A.

I knew that I could cure
all the pain I once endured
And my small town I’d surely miss
in my search for happiness

So I said don’t confuse your love with hate
Start right now, it’s not too late

So move boy, it’s time to go, your life is here,
you need to go

A plane is leaving for the sky
You’ll make it,
You just need to try, yeah, you need to try

And if you fall, you will not break
Oh no, it won’t be more than you can take
It’s never more than you can take
Before you know, you’re feeling fine
Don’t worry bout’ the finish line
Don’t worry bout’ the finish line
Oh no, don’t worry bout’ the finish line

Don’t worry bout’ the finish line
Don’t worry bout’ the finish line
Don’t worry bout’ the finish line
Don’t worry bout’ the finish line

Yeah…(Echo * 6, then FADE)
