My songs are pieces of peace. They bridge my daily world and the eternal wholeness of life. My songs are my prayers of belonging, my cries of anguish, my protest against injustice. They give feeling to my conscience, give voice to my silence, give choice to my non-violence.

Biography

My Yang is Stevie and The Beatles, my Yin is Dylan and Paul Simon. Simply one of a kind my story tells me. I make music with children. When it is good we have fun. But listening is required and patience for music. My fellow musicians are godsends who shower me with golden notes and flats.

Butterfly Dream

Written By: Paul Clarke

Butterfly Dream

I’m a swimmer in the sea
by the Laura B
I don’t know where
the tide is taking me
I ain’t been here before
I’m going shore to shore
Don’t know if I’m awake
or if I’m dreaming
If you see me swimming by
and have it in you
won’t you stop and smile with me
If you want to catch up with me
I’d love to help you
but I can’t slow down you see

I’m a butterfly in a storm
in a hurricane
don’t know where
the wind is taking me
I ain’t been here till now
I’m going flower to flower
Don’t know if I’m awake
or if I’m dreaming
If you see me flutter by
and have it in you
won’t you stop and smile with me
If you want to catch up with me
I’d love to help you
but I can’t slow down you see

Last night I dreamt
I was a flutter butterfly
Today I don’t know if I
am a man who dreamt he’s a butterfly
Or a butterfly dreaming he’s a man
a flutter butterfly who’s a man

I’m ship wrecked on a shoal
in my soul
Don’t know where
the waves are crashing me
Lying on my side in the turning tide
Coming going
see the sailboats flowing
If you see me sailing by
and have it in you
won’t you stop and smile with me
If you want to catch up with me
I’d love to help you
but I can’t slow down you see

Last night I dreamt
I was a flutter butterfly
Today I don’t know if I
am a man who dreamt he’s a butterfly
Or a butterfly dreaming he’s a man
a flutter butterfly who’s a man.

Bye Bye Bayou

Written By: Paul Clarke

Bye Bye Bayou

I know a woman
who’ll settle in her skin
sitting on a hard rock waiting to begin
to go with the flow
to watch the tide ebb and flow.
It’ll take a little time
for vacation to let her go slow.

Bye Bye Bayou
under flood
Bye Bye Bayou
water and mud
Bye Bye Bayou
the levee broke
Bye Bye Bayou
money’s no joke.
What do the poor folk have to do
to live like me and live like you?

Meanwhile I know a man
he knows what’s wrong
'been running in circles
too fast and too long.
He’s got to go with the flow
watch the tide come and go.
It’ll take a little time
for vacation to let him go slow.

Bye Bye Bayou
the poor hang on.
Bye Bye Bayou
the rich are gone.
Bye Bye Bayou
something’s wrong
Bye Bye Bayou with this song.
What do the rich folk have to do
to die like me and die like you?

Meanwhile…

Bye Bye Bayou see you next year.
Bye Bye Bayou I shed some tears.
Bye Bye Bayou
we mourn the dead.
Bye Bye Bayou
change the world instead.
What do the poor folk have to do to live like me and live like you?
What do the rich folk have to do to die like me and die like you?
What do the poor folk have to do to live and die like me and you?
To live and die like me and you,
to live and die like me and you,
me and you,
me and you,
me and you,
me and you?

I Keep Breaking Faith

Written By: Paul Clarke

I Keep Breaking Faith

In the darkness in the coldness
In the stillness in my soul
In the silence in the violence
I am hungry to be whole.
I can see you I can feel you
I can let you in my heart
I can heal you I can hurt you
I can let things fall apart.

I keep breaking faith
with the one I love
I keep breaking faith
with the one
who gives me a piece of the sun.
I keep breaking trust
with the one who trusts me
I keep breaking trust
with the one
who gives me a piece of the sun.

In the darkness in the coldness
in the stillness in my soul
In the silence in the violence
I am hungry to be whole.
I can see you I can feel you
I can let you in my heart
I can heal you I can hurt you
I can let things fall apart.

I keep making love with the one I love I keep making love with you
I keep making love with the one I love I keep making love with you.
