Bio

Paul Anthony Curtis (born 18th Feb 1974, Nottingham, England) taught himself guitar from the age of 16 and at 18 began writing songs. Paul played in three bands in the 90's - The Distractions, Strange Daze and Bad Sign. In 2000, Paul went it alone as an acoustic soloist. Paul became a regular performer at a number of venues - notably The Fox & Newt, Leeds. Highlight performances were charity events at The Wardrobe and City Limits in Leeds, The Concert for Ian Broadhurst, in Wakefield, and the 2005 Pulse Battle of the Bands, at Livingstone’s, Bradford, at which Paul beat all of the bands in his heat to reach the final! Paul purchased a digital 12 track home recording studio in 2004 and has since produced three demo albums – “Ardent Reverie” in 2004, “Life?” in 2005 and “Mercurial Moods” in 2006, all featuring programmed drums and bass, acoustic and electric guitars, brass, blues harp and vocal harmonies. Paul’s live performances went onto the back burner from 2007. Brief exceptions were another 3-piece, Fuzzraiser, for a charity concert at The Wardrobe, and a Strange Daze reunion performance, in Pudsey. In 2008, Paul completed writing his rock opera, “Bewilderment”, which he is currently recording. Paul returned to playing live in May 2009 and has performed regularly ever since. In 2010, Paul released his first proper record, "Paul's First E.P.", as a download only release on the Native Tongue label, done as a DIY job, so Paul remains unsigned.... for now!
