Singer-songwriter Paul Edwards has sent chills through captivated audiences from Montreal to Sweden with his unique voice and acoustically driven songs.

Biography

Notorious for spending countless hours in the studio, only to set the master tapes ablaze, Paul Edwards has finally committed to releasing his first album. His band (Steve Clifford - Bass, Dave Fenwick - Guitar, Wade Manricks - Drums) formed after his return from a year stay in Sweden where he was host/engineer/producer on International Radio at Lund Radio. While in Sweden he grew more interested in producing and recording as he dabbled at the radio station and recorded in a few studios around the city (Paul Edwards "Lund Sessions" - out of print).
Now Montreal based, he spends his days and nights recording and producing other bands both in studio and live in concert (including The Stills, Priestess, Peter Elkas, Joel Plaskett, Dutch Oven) for Houdini Mobile Recordings.

Connected to the likes of Nick Drake, Mark Lanegan, Grant Lee Buffalo, Travis, Jeff Buckley, and David Gray, Paul's songs are laced with intricate guitar playing and smooth, solid vocals that will make the hairs on the back on your neck stand at attention.

Recently voted one of the Best Singer/Songwriters in Montreal, critics and fans alike no doubt agree that Paul Edwards is a talented young songwriter who stays true to what music should be: inspired and original.

Keep your eyes & ears fixed on Edwards in 2005, as he will be bring it to the Clubs both on his own and with his band to promote the new album.

Lyrics

All or Nothing

Written By: Paul Edwards

What were you doin' last night off the main?
Saw your silhouette drivin' home.
Work night late.

Don't explain the sources of the bruises.
Don't have to go the fight yourself.
Don't have to be one who loses.
Sister know we're here to help.

Here to help. Need to find a solution.
Here to help. I don't want to lose you.

Cause it's all or nothing so choose tonight.

She falls down hard, but gets back up.
Don't blame the karma, it's just bad luck.

Here to help. Need to find a solution.
Here to help. I don't want to lose you.

Cause it's all or nothing.
Choose to get back up for the urban soldiers with their paper cups.
We're here to help.

Here to help. Need to find a solution.
Here to help. I don't want to lose you.
Here to help. Need to find a solution.
Cause it's all or nothing. Choose tonight.

In The City

Written By: Paul Edwards

She left just after senior class
Putting practice into plan
In the city that's where she'll be
Seeking warmth from the flash

Break a leg. Don't compromise.

December's charm has you locked in
Getting warm from the fan
In the city she sees her words
Opportunity seems to slip on past

Break a leg. Don't compromise.
For if truth is told it's only your life.
Break a leg. Thinking of compromise.

Still the stars are in those eyes
But the skies fill in with clouds
In the city it often rains
Come to cleanse what's not allowed

Break a leg. Don't compromise.
For if truth is told it's only your life.

Response Ability

Written By: Paul Edwards

You laid on your charms
and from two comes three.
Now she's late you can't stop thinking of leaving early.
You can't stop the alarms from making you want to run.
Into the past to change that night, before you had your fun.

Responsibility will make you a man.

If you betray your bonds and set her free to be a single saviour to a latch key.
Like the fortune that never shone from your father to his son, you'll keep the cycle spinning 'round and wonder who has won.

Responsibility will make you a man.
Don't fear your ability to be part of the plan.

Hold out your arms and let her see you be a bigger man than you thought could be.
You won't hear the alarms that made you want to run.
And in it's place a love that lasts through a daughter or a son.

Responsibility will make you a man.
Don't fear your ability to be part of the plan.
