Words drip down Down to the ground Up with the sun Now it’s begun Slivers of a memory Lay on the ground Catch my eye Scatter all around … -- Paul Gallini ... songwriter ... dad ... a thinker with a lot of heart that's felt enough pain to know that you have to love life while you can.

When Gasoline Freezes

Written By: Paul M Gallini

When gasoline freezes you know you’re in trouble
You won’t be heading home anytime soon
When gasoline freezes you know you’re in trouble
You know you’ll see midnight before you see noon

When gasoline freezes you know that help is needed
Maybe things will thaw by the time you reach June
When gasoline freezes you know you’re in trouble
You might as well be stranded on that harvest moon

Nothing good will ever come from what you’re doing
Nothing good has ever come from what you’ve done
When gasoline freezes you know you better slow down
You better start thinking ‘bout where you’re from

You can walk a frozen driveway to find a frozen road
And the distance between us grows longer just the same
You see the frozen phone line stretch across a field
And the reason that you left here make less sense every day …. Every Day

When gasoline freezes you know you’re in trouble
You won’t be heading home anytime soon
When gasoline freezes you know you’re in trouble
You know you’ll see midnight before you see noon
When gasoline freezes you know you’re in trouble
You won’t be heading home for a long, long time
When gasoline freezes you know you’re in trouble
You might as well go and get me off your mind

[Guitar Solo]

If I could tell you …. Where a heart goes
When the snow starts to blow … starts to blow so cold
Maybe I show you …..an empty cold apartment
And maybe you’d see … that I left years ago …. Wondered if you’d know

You know you’ll see midnight … before … you see noon

The Conversation

Written By: Paul M Gallini

I see my past in spectrums of emotion now
Sometimes sad about pieces that were glad somehow
Held together while my life chased yours around
now I’m all right

She’s inside
her head tonight
Maybe come around
some other time
Oh, she’s O.K.
I’d say she feels all - right
Not sad, lonely, mad, or unkind

I see my past in spectrums of emotion now
Sometimes sad about pieces that were glad somehow
Held together while my life chased yours around
now I’m O.K.
I’ve made mistakes yet I feel forgiveness
in your - light
A slow blink says you need to stay

She’s inside
her head tonight
Maybe come back
another day
And when she looks up
my heart turns - light
A slow blink says I ought to stay

And she doesn’t need to say a thing
She just rests her head on my shoulder
And she doesn’t need to be sorry again
We’ll just let the past be over

She’s inside my heart tonight
Turning everything upside down

Fourth of July

Written By: Paul M Gallini

And we're just testing each other
To see how far down the darkness lurks
The further we push back the covers
The more we want this thing to work

You ask 'Tell me what you're thinking now'
But my answer is always your question
You ask 'Tell me about your dreams'
But they seem to come and go
'What song is that inside your head?'
Can't seem to really place it
But how they really feel about us now
It's what we really want to know

[CHORUS]
And we open ourselves to each other and let everything fly
Like propaganda from a war plane as they're eating their apple pie
Don't think about what we're saying, we don't hesitate to cry
We live our lives so freely because it's always the Fourth of July
You question your sexuality
Maybe it's got some answers
You question the Mother Mary
But even she doesn't always know
You ask a lot out of relationships
It always leads to frustration
Then you look inside yourself
And the answers start to flow

When it rains in my life It starts to pour, It starts to pour, It starts to pour
Let it rain some more

Snowhite

Written By: Paul M Gallini

You find Snowhite catching a cab downtown
You think to follow change your mind
You think about cannibals chasing clowns
Hand in your pocket find a dime
But tossing coins to help decide your fate
It's a bit like asking someone
If you seem confident, if you have the shakes
You drop the dime and start to run

[CHORUS]
Be that as it is be that as it may
If you just gave it half a chance maybe she'll meet you half the way
Be that as it is be that as it may
Maybe you shy from the answer you never thought you'd say

I buy Snowhite a Bud and a shot of Beam
She downs the Beam so I ask her out
She downs the Bud and I wonder what took so long
I have reservations about your doubt
The things in your head ought to be left alone
The sun is setting all the time
Yet she asks the quesitons that feel O.K.
Time to make up your mind

[CHORUS]
Stupid dreams tend to find stupid people
So goes the same with lonely songs
Life's as simple as your feelings for yesterday
Sometimes I play the clanging gong

Snowhite waves as the taxi rounds the corner
You feel a tear coming on
You look to the sidewalk and spot a dime
You feel the sun going down

17 Below

Change, change why can't I change
The change you're trying to put on me
Change, change why can't I change
The change you're trying to change in me
And even though I know I've got a ways to go
Why can't I let it be
Change, change why can't I change
The change you're trying to put on me

Change, change I'm finding it strange
To change what attracted me
Change, change I'm finding it strange
To change what attracted me
And even though I know it's 17 below
You're finding me on my knees
Change, change I'm finding it strange
To change what attracted me to you

[CHORUS]
Why do I feel I have to change you
Why must you try to change me
At 17 below the wind is gonna blow
Everyone's bound to freeze

Change, change why can't I change
The change you're trying to put on me
Change, change why can't I change
The change you're trying to change in me
And even though I know it's 17 below
You're finding me on my knees
Change, change I'm finding it strange
To change what attracted me ... to you

[CHORUS]
Why do I feel I have to change you
Why must you try to change me
At 17 below the wind is gonna blow
Everyone's bound to freeze
And everyone I know
Seems to come and go
And the Change has got to come from me
And everywhere I go
The people all know
That the Change has got to come from me
And even though I know
It's 17 below
The Change has got to come from me
The change has got to come
The change has got to come
The change has got to come
... from me
