Bio

Some time during The Ryecatchers second mayhem-filled tour of England, Paul realized that, even after 8 years of intense work to develop his group and musicianship, it was time to move in a new direction, a fresh start.

Upon returning to Canada, Gibbons obtained a VideoFact grant for a song he had written, and a video was released and aired on Muchmusic for his song called "Tease" but sadly it was indeed just that for the band's fans, as the band had officially split.

While on an original band hiatus, Paul resorted to singing and jamming on the piano at an old local pub Blues Jam night. Through a contact at the blues jams, an individual was so impressed by Paul's skills and his history with his last band, Paul was asked to try out for a high profile cover band.

After a stint as the bass player and a co-singer in the local Night Club cover band, Paul decided to focus on the studio and the development of his new project.

Given the new freedom to fully explore his musical quest, Gibbons embarked on a journey to expand his creative talent without the limitations faced within his last band. With numerous experiences and personalities fueling his creativity, a more soulful and intimate talent has emerged, supported by a raw and real introspective songwriting approach.

Gibbons has spent his time performing solo all around Vancouver while developing new tunes in the studio, and honing in on a new line up, with the new material. The new musical direction finds inspiration in the 80's new wave, melding with modern pop music genres, while still honouring hints of his true inspirations of the Beatles.

The first album from Paul's is due for completion in summer of 2009.
