"Good stuff for innerstate driving"

Experimental music that is both breaking new ground and staying close to home. Good tunes for those long, innerstate drives.

Bio

Paul has played in many bands since 1986, as a member of Flaming Youth, Chaos, Transgressor, the Pacifist Masochists, Roberto Slack, the Dreamatic House Band, La Eggra Negra

His early writing in Transgressor was influenced by metallica and megadeth, but by 1992 began showing diverse influences such as the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, CSNY, Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, Sonic Youth, Janes Addiction, Beck, Nick Cave.

Starting in 1992, in addition to playing in bands, Paul began recording his material at home on a 4-track recorder (with paul on all instruments) Eventually releasing his home recordings on cassette and CD. Over time, his songwriting and recording technologies improved.

In 2008, after 16 years of solo recordings, Paul has assembled a band to play "choice" selections from his catalog of originals.

The band's recent appearance at the Spinstock Festival in Wolcott CT, in early May, proved to be a smashing success with a jamband "family" audience.

Many of Paul's home recordings are online at www.paulholdaband.com.
