Guardian Angel(Of my used to be)

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt

Guardian Angel
(Of my used to be)

We had our daily quarrel
But this one was the worst
So I drove off in my pickup
Not knowin’ I’d need a hurse
I didn’t see the flashing red light
But I missed the train with ease
But when I saw the dead end sign
It was in the cab with me

For just a while
my mind was in a blur
Then I woke up in heaven
And God assigned me to her
Now I’m the guardian angel
Of my used to be
I’d love to see her face
when she finds out what I see

I went to my funeral
She was there alright
As they viewed my body
She held him real tight
This was the first of many surprises
I was gonna’ see
I watched them count my money
As they closed the lid on me

For just a while
my mind was in a blur
Then I woke up in heaven
And God assigned me to her
Now I’m the guardian angel
Of my used to be
I’d love to see her face
When she finds out what I see

When they left my funeral
They went for my insurance
They were really stretching
The life of my endurance
I had to help her collect the money
And solve her problems too
‘Cause I’m her guardian Angel
And that’s what angels do

For just a while
my mind was in a blur
Then I woke up in heaven
And God assigned me to her
Now I’m the guardian angel
Of my used to be
I’d love to see her face
When she finds out what I see

Always Here

Always Here

Written by: Paul E Hunnecutt & Shelly James

Always Here

He walked her into the classroom
The very first time
Held her little hand tightly
As tears filled her eyes

And she pleaded. “Daddy I’m so scared,
I want you to stay
I can’t make it without you
Please don’t go away”

And he said,
“Baby, you know I’d never leave you behind
Even though I won’t always be near
As she felt his grip loosen
On her trembling hand
He touched her heart
And he whispered,
“Baby, ‘I’m always here’”

When she was twenty five she wore
A gown and a smile
Held his gentle hand tightly
Before they walked down the isle

And he confided, “Baby I’m not prepared
For what I have to do today
Or for all the lonely years
After giving you away

And she said,
“Daddy, you know I’d never leave you behind
Even though I won’t always be near
As he felt her grip loosen
On his trembling hand
She touched his heart
And she whispered,
“Daddy, ‘I’m always here’”

Thirty years later she knelt
By his bed and they cried
Held each others hand tightly
Saying final goodbyes

And she said,
“Daddy, I know you’d never leave me behind
Even though you won’t always be near
As she felt his grip loosen
On her trembling hand
She touched her heart
And she whispered,
“Daddy, ‘you’re always here’”

My Soul's On Crutches

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt

My Soul’s On Crutches

Chorus:
It was a three heart collision with only two chances for survival.
My doctor pronounced my heart broken on arrival.
No matter how I try, I can't love again
My soul’s on crutches and my head’s in a spin.

Verse:
You say you want to ride in my love Cadillac,
but you don’t know what happened the last time it crashed.
I had no indication he was on her mind.
He showed up out of nowhere on my blind side.

Chorus:
It was a three heart collision with only two chances for survival.
My doctor pronounced my heart broken on arrival.
No matter how I try, I can't love again
My soul’s on crutches and my head’s in a spin.

Verse:
I finally got the nerve to fall in love again
but I started shakin’ and a rash was on my skin.
I saw the intersection of the crash in my mind,
But I lost control and I couldn’t stop in time.

Chorus:
It was a three heart collision with only two chances for survival.
My doctor pronounced my heart broken on arrival.
No matter how I try, I can't love again
My soul’s on crutches and my head’s in a spin.

Bridge:
The first time I lost to a new love affair.
This time I crashed true love and I got tossed in the air.

Chorus:
It was a three heart collision with only two chances for survival.
My doctor pronounced my heart broken on arrival.
No matter how I try, I can't love again
My soul’s on crutches and my head’s in a spin.

Do The Stagger

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt

Do the Stagger

You don’t have to drink to have fun
Just act like the rest of us drunks
As soon as the good times begin
yell to the band, ”play that song again!”

And do the stagger
Do the stagger
Do the beer barrel boogie and
look like you’re drunk as a skunk
Do the stagger
Do the stagger
Do the one foot wiggle
and dance like a beer spillin’ drunk

Pour your near beer in a glass
And slur the words, “I’m havin’ a blast”
Spill a little bit on the floor
And yell once again; “play that song some more”.

And do the stagger
Do the stagger
Do the beer barrel boogie and
look like you’re drunk as a skunk
Do the stagger
Do the stagger
Do the one foot wiggle
and dance like a beer spillin’ drunk

bridge
No headache, no hangover, no red eyes.
And won’t that cop who pulls you over be surprised?

Do the stagger
Do the stagger
Do the beer barrel boogie and
look like you’re drunk as a skunk
Do the stagger
Do the stagger
Do the one foot wiggle
and dance like a beer spillin’ drunk

I've Gotta' Move On

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt

I’ve Gotta’ Move on

I can’t hear the coyote howl
I can’t see the road runner run
I’ve lost all track of the owl
And they’re trying to take my gun

Chorus
I’ve gotta’ move on
My freedom here is gone
The highway traffic is mad
And the crime rate is bad
I need my open space
No people in my face
The lines in the grocery stores are long
I’ve gotta’ move on

I can’t see the sun for the smog
I can’t drink water from the spout
I’M rounding up my cattle and my dog
And I’m gonna’ get out

Chorus
I’ve gotta’ move on
My freedom here is gone
The highway traffic is mad
And the crime rate is bad
I need my open space
No people in my face
The lines in the grocery stores are long
I’ve gotta' move on

Bridge
I moved out of town to get free
Now the whole world’s following me

Chorus
I’ve gotta’ move on
My freedom here is gone
The highway traffic is mad
And the crime rate is bad
I need my open space
No people in my face
The lines in the grocery stores are long
I’ve gotta’ move on

I Always Cry When It Rains

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt & Jeff Hodge

I Always Cry When It Rains

When Daddy passed mom faded fast
The time came for a nursing home
A steady rain fell as she left
Her tears told me how she felt
Her lonely eyes begged in vain
I always cry when it rains

Chorus
Storm clouds gather
Darkness fills the sky
The smell of rain in the distance
The fragrance of goodbye
I take the wash in off the line
As I struggle with the pain
I close the windows and sit on the porch
I always cry when it rains

I hold her near and wipe my tears
She doesn’t even know me
Her new home is a quiet place
She always stares into space
Rain runs down her window panes
I always cry when it rains.

Chorus
Storm clouds gather
Darkness fills the sky
The smell of rain in the distance
The fragrance of goodbye
I take the wash in off the line
As I struggle with the pain
I close the windows and sit on the porch
I always cry when it rains

Bridge
A haunting breeze brushed my face
As my tears fell on her grave

Chorus
Storm clouds gather
Darkness fills the sky
The smell of rain in the distance
The fragrance of goodbye
I take the wash in off the line
As I struggle with the pain
I close the windows and sit on the porch
I always cry when it rains

Application Blues

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt & Jerry Ford

APPLICATION BLUES

Verse:
I’VE GOTTA' GO DOWN MONDAY MORNING, LORD, AND PUT MY APPLICATION IN.
LOS MY GOOD OLE WORKING JOB BECAUSE OF SOME BULLHEADED MAN.
SO I GUESS I'LL GET OUT MY RESUME’ AND PASS IT AROUND AGAIN.
‘CAUSE I KNOW TO GET A JOB I’VE GOTTA’ PUT MY APPLICATION IN.

Chorus:
AND I'VE GOT THOSE APPLICATION BLUES AGAIN.
THEY WANT TO KNOW WHO THE HELL YOU ARE, AND WHERE THE WORLD YOU'VE BEEN.
YOU STAND THERE WAITING FOR AN INTERVIEW,
THEY SAY "DON'T CALL US WE'LL CALL YOU,
RIGHT NOW WE DON'T HAVE A JOB FOR YOU".
I'VE GOT THOSE APPLICATION BLUES.

Verse:
WELL, THE UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE BLEW MY MIND BECAUSE THE LINE WAS IN THE STREET.
SEEMED LIKE EVERYBODY IN TOWN WAS IN THE SAME BOAT AS ME.
BUT I'LL STAND THERE IN THAT LINE ALL DAY IF THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN.
‘CAUSE I KNOW TO GET A JOB I’VE GOT TO PUT MY APPLICATION IN.

Bridge
WELL, I KEEP ON LOOKIN' IN THE CLASSIFIED ADS,
BUT THERE'S NOTHING IN THERE FOR ME.
TO GET A JOB TODAY YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE A COLLEGE DEGREE.

DARLIN' DEAR

Chorus:
YEAH, I WROTE A SONG WHEN I WAS DRUNK, AND IT STUNK.

I GOT THE IDEA WHILE RESTING BETWEEN BEERS.
I WAS JUST SITTIN' HERE THINKIN' 'BOUT MY DARLIN' DEAR.
Verse:
I LIKE LIVIN' UP THERE IN HER MANSION ON THE HILL.
IN HER BACK FORTY IS WHERE I HID MY MOONSHINE STILL.
SHE ASKED ME HOW COME I SPEND SO MUCH TIME UP THERE IN THE WOODS.
I TOLD HER IT LIFTS MY SPIRITS AND I THINK SHE UNDERSTOOD.
Verse:
LAST TIME I SAW HER I THINK I SAW HER TWICE.
SHE HAD TWO BODIES AND FOUR BIG BEAUTIFUL EYES
I THOUGHT ABOUT CALLIN' HER AND ASKIN' HER TO JOIN ME HERE.
BUT SHE'S AT WORK AND I AIN’T ABOUT TO MESS UP HER CAREER.
Chorus:
YEAH, I WROTE A SONG WHEN I WAS DRUNK, AND IT STUNK.

BAR TENDER BRING ME A DRINK AND PUT IT ON HER TAB.
SHE'S SUPPORTIN’ ME TILL I GET OFF OLE REHAB.
MY COUNSELOR SAY'S HE THINKS I'M DOIN' JUST FINE.

I WANTA’GO HOME BUT HE'S LYIN' THERE ON THE FLOOR.
I GUESS I'D BETTER NOT LET HIM DRINK NO MORE.

That There Thang You've Got

Written By: Paul E. Hunnecutt

verse:
You came into this world at an early age with it
It helps you git everything you want to git
You use it as one of your toys
Every time you want to play with the boys

chorus:
I can’t resist it
You show it off a lot
You love to tease me (tease with what?, tease with what?)
With that there thang you’ve got

verse:
You earned my love when we were little kids with it
now you’re the only girl I want to git
You use it to keep you on my mind
And I want you to know its workin’ fine

chorus:
I can’t resist it
You show it off a lot
You love to tease me (tease with what?, tease with what?)
With that there thang you’ve got

bridge:
Ok you’ve finally got it out of me
I’m talkin’ ‘bout your personality

chorus:
I can’t resist it
You show it off a lot
You love to tease me (tease with what?, tease with what?)
With that there thang you’ve got

The Rock and Roll Yodel

The Rock and Roll Yodel

I ask myself if I need you
You always tell me that I do
But I don’t wanna’ be me if I need you
I don’t think you’d ever come through

Don’t you think I know anything?
Don’t you think I know about you?
I know you don’t love me
Don’t you think I can see?
It feels good knowin’ we’re through
Now I can do the rockin’ roll yodel
As I walk away from you
Eyodelahee he he hehehehehehe

Your off and on love for me
Tells me you were born to cheat
You Know you always try to hide it from me
Good news is I finally broke free

Don’t you think I know anything?
Don’t you think I know about you?
I know you don’t love me
Don’t you think I can see?

When You're with me

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt

When You’re with Me

MY COFFEE TASTES AS GOOD AS IT SMELLS
THINGS ARE AS GOOD AS THEY SEEM
SOMETIMES I THINK I HEAR WEDDING BELLS
SWEETHEART, WHEN YOU’RE WITH ME

CHORUS
THAT’S WHAT I TOLD YOU WHEN WE WERE SEVENTEEN
YOU LOOKED SO PRETTY AS THE HOMECOMIN’ QUEEN
THE GUYS ALL GATHERED ‘ROUND YOU BUT I’M THE ONE YOU’D SEE
THAT’S WHY I FEEL SO GOOD SWEETHEART, WHEN YOU’RE WITH ME”

VERSE
I’M IN HEAVEN WHILE I’M STILL ALIVE
LIFE IS AS GOOD AS CAN BE
YOU ALWAYS LIFT ME TO A NATURAL HIGH
SWEETHEART WHEN YOU’RE WITH ME

BRIDGE
WHEN I SEE YOU HURT A LITTLE AND I CRY
BUT I’M OVERCOME WITH HAPPINES WHEN I SEE YOU SMILE

CHORUS
THAT’S WHAT I TOLD YOU WHEN WE WERE SEVENTEEN
YOU LOOKED SO PRETTY AS THE HOMECOMIN’ QUEEN
THE GUYS ALL GATHERED ‘ROUND YOU BUT I’M THE ONE YOU’D SEE
THATS WHY I FEEL SO GOOD SWEETHEART, WHEN YOU’RE WITH ME”

I Need To Hold You

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt

Please use these lyrics

I Need To Hold You

I said I’d wait for you
To finish school
But I didn’t know the pain
Of missing you
Memories are ok
But they can’t take you place

When I read your letters
You feel so near
And your sweet voice
Is so good to hear
It fills my heart with new love
That I want to show you
I wish you could hurry home
I need to hold you

Each time your airplane
Leaves the ground
I look until I lose
Sight and sound
I whisper a goodbye
Then I wipe my eyes

When I read your letters
You feel so near
And your sweet voice
Is so good to hear
It fills my heart with new love
That I want to show you
I wish you could hurry home
I need to hold you

Darlin’ come home
For another weekend

When I read your letters
You feel so near
And your sweet voice
Is so good to hear
It fills my heart with new love
That I want to show you
I wish you could hurry home
I need to hold you

Memories, Ashes and Lies

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt

Memories, Ashes and Lies

Memories of a man by my side
So fine he made other guys want to hide
Ashes from a love that burned so bright
Still kindle each night when my dreams are just right
Sweet lies from lips I loved to kiss
Still whisper when I close my eyes like this
These are the remnants of my life
Memories, Ashes and Lies

Chorus
There aint no life after death of love
There aint no hope for a heart that’s broke
These are the remnants of my life
Memories, Ashes and Lies

I wake up each morning alone
I feel your side of the bed and you’re gone

Someone Call 911

Written By: Paul E Hunnecutt

SOMEONE CALL 911 (MY HEART'S ON FIRE)

Verse:
THERE'S A RESORT IN ARIZONA KNOWN AS LAKE HAVASU CITY
JUST A LITTLE SOUTH OF I-40 ON OLE 95
I JUST LOVE THE RAINBOW SUNSETS AND THE GIRLS ARE SO PRETTY
EVERY TIME I GO THERE MY FANTASIES COME ALIVE.

Pre-chorus:
I GO TO THE LONDON BRIDGE AND THERE ARE GIRLS.
I SHOP IN THE ENGLISH VILLAGE AND THERE ARE GIRLS.

Chorus:
COPPER CANYON, COPPER SKIN.
TINY BIKINIS CAUSE MY HEAD TO SPIN
I'VE JUST CROSSED MY THRESHOLD OF DESIRE.
SOMEONE CALL 911, MY HEART'S ON FIRE.

Verse:
SOMEONE YELLED "THERE'S A PARTY ON THE LAKE AT COPPER CANYON.
THE BOATS ARE BOW TO BOW AND THEY'RE ALL ENTANGLED".
THERE ARE BANK TO BANK BEAUTIES AND IT HIT ME LIKE A CANNON:
THIS PLACE LOOKS LIKE HEAVEN AND THE GIRLS LOOK LIKE ANGELS.

2nd Pre-chorus:
I LOOK TO THE STARBOARD SIDE AND THERE ARE GIRLS.
I LOOK TO THE PORT SIDE AND THERE ARE GIRLS.

Chorus:
COPPER CANYON, COPPER SKIN.
TINY BIKINIS CAUSE MY HEAD TO SPIN
I'VE JUST CROSSED MY THRESHOLD OF DESIRE.
SOMEONE CALL 911, MY HEART'S ON FIRE.

INSTRUMENTAL

Chorus:
COPPER CANYON, COPPER SKIN.
TINY BIKINIS CAUSE MY HEAD TO SPIN
I'VE JUST CROSSED MY THRESHOLD OF DESIRE.

If you've ever been to Lake Havasu City and Copper Canyon you can imagine what a great video you could make with this song.
also, lake Havasu City and Copper Canyon are well known throughout the country and world wide. Lake Havasu City is a very popular tourist destination and MTV went there a few years ago and filmed a spring break show. Students came from all over the world.

If you're a publisher with all the contacts and you want to pitch this song, I'll give you 100% of the publishing. This offer is good until I find an artist to record it or a publisher.

Thanks
Paul

Written By: Paul E. Hunnecutt

I Wanta’ Win You

Verse
You were walkin’ with some friends one bright night.
I did a double take when I saw you.
You looked so handsome in the glowing light.
You built a fire in me and I want you to.

Chorus
Talk to me baby Smile with, let me know what’s on your mind
So I can learn and understand how you really feel inside.
Dance with me and set your feelings free.
Look at me baby in my eyes and give your love to me.
Feel my love in you heart, it is deep and true.
I will fly or die for you; I wanta’ win you.

Verse
I will do everything you want me to.
I will never hurt you nor do you wrong.
My arms are reaching out just for you.
Stay in them forever where you belong.

Chorus
Talk to me baby, smile with me, let me know what is on your mind
So I can learn and understand how you really feel inside.
Dance with me and set your feelings free.
Look at me baby in my eyes and give your love to me.
Feel my love in you heart it is deep and true.
I will fly or die for you, I wanta’ win you

Chorus
Talk to me baby, honestly, let me know what’s on your mind
So I can learn and understand how you really feel inside.
Dance with me and set your feelings free.
Look at me baby in my eyes and give your love to me.
Feel my love in you heart it is deep and true.
I will fly or die for you. I wanta’ win you
