All I Need Is You

Written By: Paul Judge

ALL I NEED IS YOU

Coming up fast, or going down slow
The flickering of a candle after the sun’s rosy glow
The first to come, the last to go,
When the twinkling of an eye
becomes a full length feature show

And always love
Love and hard work has seen us through.
Just like a lucky charm, baby,
AlI I need is you.

In blazing sunshine, through driving rain
We’ve made chances that won’t appear again
Been lifted up, been knocked down
Caught between the eye of a needle and the prongs of a crown

And always love
Love and hard work has seen us through.
Just like a lucky charm, baby,
All I need is you.

And who knows what may come tomorrow
Sometimes the reservoir of hope itself rings hollow
Laughter, tempered with sorrow
Just a few payments down, the rest all to follow....

All tints of red, all shades of blue
The two sides of a coin bring a rainbow to view
The first to come, the last to go
Until the twinkling of an eye becomes a full length feature show

And always love
Love and hard work has seen us through.
Just like a lucky charm, baby,
All I need is you.

Just Walk On By

Written By: Paul Judge

JUST WALK ON BY

My uncle tried to tell me, when I was growing up to be a man,
To walk away from situations, before they get out of hand.
He said, “if you can’t learn to hold your temper,
if you can’t learn to hold your tongue,
One day you’ll start up something, that cannot be undone.”

“Boy, you could swing, you could fry,
You could face a lethal injection, or thirty-plus years inside.
Do you reckon that’s worth it, just ‘cos someone’s hurt your pride?
When you could just - - Walk On By.”

Some years later, I’d moved away from home,
I was living with a sweet loving woman of my own.
Things started going wrong, in ways I did not understand,
Until one day I found her lying in the arms of another man.

I felt so mad, when I discovered this affair,
I could have picked him up and dropped him, head first down the stairs.
But he wasn’t worth it; although I was burning up inside,
I let him just - - Walk On By.

Now we were drinking in a bar, mellow and relaxed,
‘Til there was a difference of opinion, between my friend and the local pack.
He was shouting, they were laughing, but this was no friendly crack,
He was reaching for his weapon, when we hauled him out the back;

“Don’t want you to swing, don’t want you to fry,
Don’t want to be visiting you for the next thirty-plus years inside.
It can’t be worth it, no matter how bad it hurts your pride,
Buddy just - - Walk On By.”

Leaving Early

Written By: Paul Judge

LEAVING EARLY

1. No use you looking for me in the morning
No use you keep a-ringing that telephone
No use you dropping by, calling out my name
Before the sun is up I’ll be long gone

CHO I bought a ticket, I’ll be leaving early
This time around I ain’t gonna ride the blinds
This time I’ve got a seat to ride the railroad line
Bought me a ticket, now my hobo days are done

2. There’ll be no tearful farewells at the station
No handkerchiefs a-dabbing at the eye
Gonna take a taxi on my own right to the platform side
Don’t want no friends along to say goodbye

CHO

3. Didn’t have the heart to tell my girl I’m leaving
She’d only try to make me change my mind
So if you see my girl, won’t you ask her nice and kind
Please forgive me for leaving her behind

CHO

4. Let’s not talk about destinations
Let’s just shake hands and say “so long”
If you don’t ask the question, I won’t tell the lie
And next time you look for me I’ll be long gone

CHO
