Biography

For Paul Ledding, music is more than just a hobby—it’s the soundtrack to his life. “It’s the fuel that keeps me going,” said Ledding.

“I think life is a waste of time if you spend the majority of your day doing something that is not meaningful to you. Music reminds me to keep doing what I enjoy doing and it provides me with a chance to inspire and connect with others through my songwriting.”

Possessing a professional and collected demeanor, Ledding comes to life on stage. His unique, humble and down-to-earth Jazz/R&B vocals attract audiences across the spectrum.

Primarily focusing on a mix of Pop, Jazz, and R&B music, this rising star says his musical interests are all over the map. He likes to draw his inspiration from listening to a variety of artists and different styles of music. Ledding began writing his own songs, while a student in Vocal Jazz Performance at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton. Since that time, he has continued to write his own songs and Ledding recently released his debut EP.

Play Me A Song, currently available on iTunes and played on CKUA Radio and CBC Radio, tells Ledding’s story of finding love and the lessons he learned along the way. To commemorate the release of the album, Ledding brought its powerful big band feel to life on stage at Edmonton’s premiere jazz venue, The Yardbird Suite. In 2015, Ledding will tour Western Canada to promote the EP while writing new material for his LP due to be recorded in the second part of the year.
