BandFolk

Paul Simon meets Jack Johnson meets Dave Matthews... thoughtful lyrics, good/jazzy groove, and an amazing acoustic lead guitar player!

Biography

Paul Lemire is a self-taught acoustic guitar player from Montreal, Canada who didn't start playing, writing or performing until he was 23 years old. He would get home from his dull office job and ask himself, "is this it?" After seeing hundreds of live music concerts he decided to buy a guitar, teach himself to play, and because he couldn't play other people's songs at first he had to write his own so that he could get out on the stage and perform. Since then, he's written two CD's and won three songwriting awards in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. He's now a full-time musician playing all over Southern California. Paul is 33 years old.

Lyrics

Bonnie's Song

Written By: Paul Lemire

I've been thinkin' of all
the ways I love you
How you make my gray skies blue

I like how our lives are blending
To you all my love I'm sending
You are my happy ending, Love

If I had my way
I would see you everyday
But you live so far away
...from me

If my arms were long
Kinda like Stretch Armstrong
I would reach them up to you

I would hold you tight
Each and every single night
And I would never let you go

If I had my way
I would see you everyday
But you live so far away
...from me

Down the Road

Written By: Paul Lemire

Call me crazy
A dreamer too
I've been thinkin'
about the kiss you blew
Before you left me lastnight

Like maybe it would land
Upon my cheek
Or better yet my lips
If left up to me...
it woulda exploded in the air
into a thousand raining down on me

Well, I know we haven't known
each other very long
But wouldn't it be a shame to let this go
Cause if we felt the same
Down the road...
how would we ever know?

I thought I'd sing you a song
I had another in mind
But forgot the words I hope that you don't mind
I made one up for you and
Rest assured every single word
is true

Well, I know we haven't known
each other very long
But wouldn't it be a shame to let this go
Cause if we felt the same
Down the road...
how would we ever know?

It's no secret, you already knew
The very first time I laid my eyes on you
It's like an Angel came down from above
And covered me with magic pixie dust of love

Well, I know we haven't known
each other very long
But wouldn't it be a shame to let this go
Cause if we felt the same
Down the road...
how would we ever know?

Stuck

STUCK

Stopped in the streets under lights by the cars on my way home to see her
Left a key under the mat by the door in the front, she'll be fine
When I arrive she's asleep by a clock next to light that she reads by
I gently close the door
Tiptoe across the floor

And there she is dreamin'
I am left thinkin'
As I lay down by her side
I'm takin' this all in stride
Cause who's to say I'm not dreamin' too?

Flip the switch by the desk drawer she's awake now and smiling
But in a moment the lights go down
We're huggin', kissin', and foolin' around
There's no place that I'd rather be
Love the way she holds on to me...

But soon she'll be dreamin'
My soul is screamin'
As lay down by her side
I'm taking this all in stride
Cause who's to say I'm not dreamin' too?

Well, forgive me I can be so naive
It hits me in the morning when she's ready to leave
But she tells me all the time with just a look in her eye
That she'll be back again as she waves and kisses me
Goodbye...

And when she is dreamin'
I am left thinkin'
As I lay down by her side
I'm takin' this all in stride
Cause who's to say I'm not dreamin' too?
