“Have you ever heard such brilliant songs and such a wonderful voice?” - Eddie Reader.
“A dynamic work of art” - Irish Radio Network, Manhattan, USA.
“It’s only a matter of time for Cellar Club” - Maire Brennan CLANNAD.
“Paul & Dave have something special; talent, ability, personality and looks. But the real hidden treasure is their music. The onstage mix between Molloy and McDonnell is a joy to watch and listen to. They displayed wit and intelligence and soon had the audience willingly eating out of their hands”.
Anne Campbell – The Dundalk Democrat.

Bio

"This album gave me goosebumps"- Bob Katz, Grammy Winner -
Influenced by James Taylor, Sting and Shawn Colvin, to name (drop) but a few. Paul opened for such artists as Eddie Reader, Jools Holland, Kirsty MacColl and Maire Brennan(Clannad) and completed 21 dates throughout Ireland with Kieran Goss. Recently Paul invited to perform at was the world famous “NY Singer Songwriter Circle” in Manhattan’s Bitter End on Bleeker Street with some established American artists and writers. The Circle has a waiting list of over one year and performers in the past include over 100 of the biggest names in American Songwriting.

A song penned by Paul "A Life Like Mine" went to No5 in the irish charts as a release by top Irish solo singer, Tommy Fleming. .
In April 2006 3 of his songs (“Josephine”, “Crazy For You” and “This Town”) went to No’s 1,2 and 3 on BROADJAM, an American review site Chart positions are based on reviews from other artists and all reviews are compared against 1000’s of other songs on the site. Broadjam were overwhelmed by the response and gave their own……. “I have been craving this type of sound to once again find it’s way on to the scene. Just pure and raw talent” - Donny Neufuss, Broadjam, USA.

Josephine also received the highest positive response for a song by an unsigned artist on Irish National Radio(on the hit/miss section of the show on TODAY FM 92% texted in “hit” ).It provoked this response from the DJ, Ray Darcy "I can't believe this guy isn't signed".

(Background) Paul McDonnell joined legendary trad group, De Danann as lead singer/guitarist for a year in 1997/98, touring America.

After a year with De Danann Paul went on to form " "Cellar Club" with Dave Molloy.
“Scored For Life” (debut album by Cellar Club- former band) came about as a result of a chance meeting at MIDEM , Cannes, where Dave & Paul were performing. They were approached by Shawn Pierce from Maximum of Canada, who quickly realised the potential of marrying world class musicians from Vancouver with the unique acoustic style of Cellar Club. Over two journeys to Canada, Cellar Club were given a great opportunity to complete an album, which showcases their best work from the previous 5 years. “Scored For Life” features top Canadian musicians and two songs from the album were used on Canadian TV and shown worldwide. Another song – “Welcome to the Real World” was recorded by Tommy Fleming on his platinum-selling album “Sand and Water”.

Another song "For all the times" has been recorded by Paul Byrom who is currently touring America with Phil Coulter and Celtic Thunder to sell out audiences.
