ANYTHING FOR MY COUNTRY

Written By: PAUL MCINTOSH

Anything for my Country copyright Paul McIntosh 2006

I'm gettin home on Friday night
way beyond the city lights
theres a paradise out here that I call home

The road is rough and mostly mud
It pounds the tar out of my truck
but I love it here and I never feel alone

well it may not be the way you'd wanna live
but for me this place has got so much to give

I'd walk the miles
I'd do the time
I'd fight the fight
I'd make the climb

I guess you've never met a boy like me
I'd do anything....... for my country

Tonight I'm headin to a spot, where there's lessons lived that can't be taught
the band there plays the hell out of my kinda song
,
The women there they dance and hoot and they love their men in hats and boots
I just miss it if I stay away too long

well it may not be the way you'd wanna live
but for me this place has got so much to give

I'd walk the miles
I'd do the time
I'd fight the fight
I'd make the climb

Beyond the bud and boots and girls, I guess it's like that in the world
what feels right is right where you belong

One Great Big Small town

Written By: Paul MCINTOSH

When Annabelle turned six years old she ran out and crossed the road
to chase a ball that left a birthday game
Mac was gardenin in his yard , he saw her trip and fall real hard
he hurried over swingin his old cane

he stopped the cars and caught his breath, I ran over scared to death
Mac looked up and said Annie is OK

in my town , a child is not alone
it might sound , naive but this I know
small town love can grow and help this world find some common ground
I wish this whole wide world could be , one great big small town

Now Annablles thirteen years old a young girl with a heart of gold
she gardens every Saturday with Mac
the old man hides out in the shade mixing ice cold lemonade
and shares his love of growin stuff with Anne

he's too old to plant and weed but together they still try to feed
anyone who needs a helpin hand

in my town , a man is not alone
it might sound , naive but this I know
small town love can grow and help this world find some common ground
I wish this whole wide world could be , one great big small town

I don't know much but somethin I have seen
Is that love can grow most anywhere if I plant the seed

in my town , no one is alone
it might sound , naive but this I know
small town love can grow and help this world find some common ground
I wish this whole wide world could be , one great big small town

A Ring For Susanah

Written By: Paul MCINTOSH

Hey there little princess I've come to tuck you in
I'm afraid I've got some real sad news for you
Grandma's gone to heaven she didn't get to say goodbye
It's OK Susanah even big old Daddies cry

And your Grandma made me promise, that I'd give this to you
her wedding band upon a chain and all her love to hold onto

A ring for Susanah, her sweet precious girl
Grandmas reminder ' of all that is good and right in this world
A ring for Susanah, from heaven above melody from line 1 rptn xct
A ring for Susanah, a circle of love
A circle of love something extra musically to show passage of time ?

susanah you're a vision , a beautiful bride
Yes Grandmas ring's in my pocket right here
I'm keepin it safe for your handsome young man
when it's time I'll pass it to him to place on your hand

He's gentle and strong and you're love is true
It's everything you're Grandma dreamed of for you

a tiny band of gold
with so much strength to hold
promises and love

A ring for Susanah, from heaven above melody from line 1 rptn xct
A ring for Susanah, a circle of love
A circle of love s

The Things We Know by Heart

Written By: Paul McIntosh/Dan Stupich

I caught your Momma cryn again tonight tears streamin down her face
(shes) worried sick that we won't get this right this new three legged race
Theres so much we don't know about she said
I told her we know all we need but it aint in our head

THE THINGS WE KNOW BY HEART, WILL ALWAYS LIGHT OUR WAY
IM NOT GONNA TELL YOU THAT WE WONT MAKE MISTAKES
BUT THERE'S SOME THINGS WE LEARN FROM BEIN LOVED
A GIFT FROM HEAVEN UP ABOVE
WE CAN LEAN ON , WHENEVER TIMES GET HARD
THE THINGS WE KNOW BY HEART

I told your Momma just think back five years when we said I do
Love (just) must of overwhelmed the fear, cuz man we didn't have a clue
and look how beautiful it all turned out
somethin deep inside showed us what love was all about

THE THINGS WE KNOW BY HEART, WILL ALWAYS LIGHT OUR WAY
IM NOT GONNA TELL YOU THAT WE WONT MAKE MISTAKES
BUT THERE'S SOME THINGS WE LEARN F ROM BEIN LOVED
A GIFT FROM HEAVEN UP ABOVE
WE CAN LEAN ON , WHENEVER TIMES GET HARD
THE THINGS WE KNOW BY HEART

We can't wait until the day you're born
I cried when i felt you kick today (oh)
there you go again and theres mommas smile
u tell her her everything will be OK

THE THINGS WE KNOW BY HEART, WILL ALWAYS LIGHT OUR WAY
IM NOT GONNA TELL YOU THAT WE WONT MAKE MISTAKES
BUT THERE'S SOME THINGS WE LEARN F ROM BEIN LOVED
A GIFT FROM HEAVEN UP ABOVE
WE CAN LEAN ON , WHENEVER TIMES GET HARD
THE THINGS WE KNOW BY HEART

Miles Between the Places (rewrite)

Written By: Paul McIntosh

Miles between the Places Paul McIntosh copyright 2006

Here's the keys to my old chevy son
I think my travellin days are all but done
throw out that tattered torn up map that was mine
beat up searchin for the places I tried to find

I dont pretend to know where you and that old truck should go
lord knows I made my own mistakes
just fall in love with busy streets and wide open spaces
cuz life is all about the miles between the places

Cherish every part of every day you travel
shiny blacktop rough old cobble stones and gravel
(and) when you least expect it you'll find the sweetest things
the kind of treasure open roads and hearts can bring(do somethin nice on bring)

I dont pretend to know where you and that old truck should go
lord knows I made my own mistakes
just fall in love with busy streets and wide open spaces
life is all about the miles between the places

You will hear it in your heart when it's time to change directions
the trick is to listen

I dont pretend to know where you and that old truck should go
it aint about the destination
just fall in love with busy streets and wide open spaces
cuz life is all about the miles

life son is all about the miles, between the places
