Paul Michael

I was born and raised in New York City and classically trained on the violin beginning at age 5 through the Suzuki Method. I quit this instruction when I began to diverge from conventional ideology to play my own material. I subsequently quit classical music altogether having played the Violin, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet and drums as I thought there was no autonomy or artistic freedom. I have been writing independent Lyrics and Guitar method for over 15 years.
Fed up with my inability to gain success in various New York City Bands, in 1999 I joined the US Marine Corp to Serve, Travel, and write about the experiences I would face. I wrote extensively during this period, especially during tours of duty in Japan and Afghanistan. I was unfortunately disabled during my military career, something that I rarely speak about.
Subsequent to my Military endeavors, I attended and graduated with a B.S. degree from NYU studying Media Business. While attending NYU, I wrote many songs while living in the very same area that some of my favorite artists such as Jimmy Hendrix did on Bleecker and West 4Th street in Greenwich Village. Further, I played several open mic nights at some of the venues that my idols, Bob Dylan and John Lennon had. I currently attend Columbia University. I had also worked for Hillary Clinton and Eliot Spitzer in free time in my undergraduate years.
My music is inspired by Truth, Individualism, experiences in politics, and focuses especially on my sharp disdain for Biased and Skewed News Media.
