Feeling a bit camera shy

Its been three years since Paul Nagi left his home of New York City, to head west. The move across country away from friends and family has inspired some 100 songs written over that time period. In the last two years, he has spent countless hours honing his voice (with his vocal coach), performance, and songwriting skills, emerging as a powerful wordsmith. With an original musical sound that bridges the gap between british new wave and indie rock genres, and vocals that are reminiscent of Jeff Buckley and Morrisey, Paul continues to win over the hearts of true music fans. Lyrics that are heartfelt and vividly succinct, evoke a time in music when words had meaning. Strong structure and memorable melodies leave songs sticking with you for days. In march 2006, after hundreds of solo performances, Paul put together a band. Finding seasoned players, due largley to his friend and guitar player Cass, was the last and most important part of his developement. Timothy Mayer on drums, Danny Kopel on keys/synth, and Mike Hill on bass and background vocals give the music that rare emotionally attainable connection. The pieces had finally come together, and after just one performance, Paul and his band, went from playing the alterknit loung at the knitting factory, to its main stage. The show garnered the respect of a well known booker. Following this performance, they were invited to play the main stage at the Key Club. He has played on both coasts, most noteably at the famed Sin-E in New Yorks lower east side. This continuous upward movement attained paul independant finance for his first, three song ep, entitled, "Auto Repair", which was released in November 2006 at a private show in Silver lake. Without the help of management or agents, Paul continues to make huge leaps in the industry, due largely to his strong work ethic, firm belief, and growing audience. What you are hearing above is from his self realeased Ep. Paul's songs will be fewatured in a new line cinemas film this fall.
