Bio

Paul Otteson grew up in Hudson, Wisconsin alongside the beautiful St. Croix River. Living with his Mother, a talented poet/musician, and Father, a closet bongo player; his childhood saw no lack of creativity. Lullabies were hand selected to reinforce good songwriting and thoughtful circle of fifth progressions. Standards such as Jack Norworth’s “Shine On Harvest Moon”, and the tragic “Golden Vanity” remained favorites at age 5 and laid the foundation for a life in music.

In high school, Paul’s success with singing secured his fate in the arts, forcing him to pursue a career in Music Education at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. In these first years at college, Paul honed his songwriting skills to a decent level and wound up hosting the University’s Open Mic. Through this outlet he started jamming with friends and soon after formed a band called "Lukas Larabee and the Lifepartners". The group achieved more then your average lot in two short years; playing a good number of gigs, winning a Battle of The Bands, and recording a CD. After the group separated, solo music came once again to the forefront.

Currently, Otteson is pursuing his solo music around the Mid-West behind his first album “The Watchman” (2006) and continues to front Oshkosh’s only glock-rock band “The Joe Briggs Project”. Surrounding himself with some of the best musicians the Fox Valley has to offer, Paul believes his career in music has just begun. “College left very little time for me to focus on music,” says Otteson, “finally I can invest myself fully into my songwriting.” With great enthusiasm, Paul has already begun work on his first full length album due in October 2008.
