Gary Allen Gary Allen here from the Charlie Daniels Band, JJ Cale and Stonewall Jackson. I am proud to have Paul as my lastest winner of my Sonicbids competition. The competition is stiff as Al Gore. I have Rolling Stones, Doobie Brothers and Pointer Sisters in the competition for first place. Congratulations Paul! Bio
Paul Ross Hensley was influenced by music artists such as The Beatles, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and Jimmy Buffet. At a young age, Paul taught himself the acoustic guitar and developed his strong and unique vocal style. He began performing in various country/rock bands, playing lead, rhythm guitar and singing in his early years. This was only temporary as Paul began focusing on songwriting and creating melodies and playing occasional acoustic solo venues while being a father and husband.
After the economic downturn in 2007, Paul began dedicating himself to writing meticulously and thoughtfully lyrics and creating memorable melodies in the country and rock genre. Eventually his work bore his debut album, Destitute Legend.
Many of the songs are lyrically and visually defined and speak of faith, sorrow, and love. Several of the tracks tell the good, challenging and the hopeful and one can see its monumental connection to the hardships people face in America and all over the world today. On a lighter note, there is also the well received novelty tune, "Backward Country Song" that is witty and entertaining. Lastly, the song Little Kelsey exemplifies Paul’s unorthodox and incomparable guitar playing execution similar to the late Michael Hedges.
Since the album’s release Paul has been featured on Capital Public Radio and Central Valley Business Times in California and has appeared on many music websites such as pressparty.com.
By releasing, Destitute Legend, Paul Ross Hensley's goal is to captivate and entertain his listeners with his diverse lyrics and vocal styles.
