"You had me at hello." The 3 song EP from this New York born, turned Atlanta based, singer/songwriter/guitarist/pianist draws you in instantly.

The first song ("Just Can't Stay") begins with a rhythmic shuffle followed by a crisp unobtrusive guitar. Then add the warm timbre of Sforza's voice and gently fade in the organ. The sound is immediately intriguing and misleading. You get the sense that you're about to listen to one of those songs perfectly suited for scented candles and light rain. And you'd be as wrong as I was The piece evolves into a very groovy energetic rocker tinged with jazz.

I tried to figure out why listening to Sforza's EP felt comfortable and familiar. Did the sound remind me of Bruce Hornsby or Steve Winwood? Then the epiphany. Sforza is reminiscent of my own sentiments and moods. He speaks of places we've all been to one degree or another.

Favorite track: "One Way"(track #3) It just makes you feel. You'll understand that assessment when you hear the song. Until then you'll just have to trust me.

Favorite line: "If a friend is a lover and a lover's a friend why isn't anyone together when the story ends" (from "Just Can't Stay" -- track #1)

Paul is one of those songwriters that has the ability to etch a string of images in your subconscious. If you close your eyes and listen, you can almost see a music video version of his songs. His debut album is due to be released soon and the line forms to the left. Behind me.

Bio

New York-based singer/songwriter Paul Sforza’s latest EP Destination introduces five new original songs with instantly memorable lyrics and melodies. Paul’s smooth, soulful voice and a polished production by Scott Patton (Sugarland, Jennifer Nettles) make this a collection that pop/rock fans will not want to miss.

Paul's debut album Lifelines received praise for its "impeccably crafted" songs from Creative Loafing, Atlanta's #1 lifestyle publication. Before relocating to New York, Paul spent many fruitful years on the Atlanta scene. Emerging as a repeat winner of local open-mic competitions, he built a following through gigs at 10 High, Smith's Olde Bar, and Hard Rock Cafe as well as live performances/promotions for local radio stations WREK, Z93, and 680 The Fan. Strong fan support for his band Paul Sforza and Release helped lead to a Readers' Choice nod in Creative Loafing's "Best of Atlanta" issue.

Since his return to New York City, Paul's songs have continued to garner critical praise as well as listener interest. 'My Love is Your Love' and 'Making a Garden Grow' both earned semifinalist honors in the 2013 UK Songwriting Contest and several other songs have received honorable mention in international competitions. Several of Paul's songs have been featured on a playlist receiving airplay at retailers such as Office Depot and J.C. Penney. Paul has performed on the side stage at the CD 101.9 Jazz Festival, recently showcased at the SSCM Music Conference in Cape May, NJ and continues to perform for his devoted fans at venues in the New York area.
