"Paul Van Ryan"

Paul van Ryan writes very beautiful blunt, confessional and honest lyrics about all aspects of life, death, sex, hate, and any other chaos that surrounds him. This mixed with catchy melodies makes him stand out by far as a great singer/songwriter with a very unique twist to his genre. - TheLeamington Observer

Bio

Paul Van Ryan is from a town in the middle of the UK called Leamington Spa and is not one to big himself up. He's not in it for fame or fortune, just recognition and to be able to get people thinking about what he has to sing about.

PVR writes about pretty much all the chaos in his life as honest as he can, and there has been plenty of it!! Break ups, Romance, meeting the right girl at the wrong time and getting his head kicked in, Religion, sex, death, love, hate...it's been described as confessional and the songs invite you into a world that he paints out for you with a catchy theme tune to go with it all.

PVR has been playing in bands for the past few years and although he's loved every minute being the front man, his solo stuff has always been on the side line...until now.

It's only been until after the summer of 2008 where he's shifted his priorities with music. The band he's been in has been great but nowhere near as productive or commited as he'd like it to be so he's spending 2009 dedicated to his solo stuff promoting the album he recorded in Autumn 2008 titled "Man of the Pee-Pole"

After gigging his solo stuff and playing at various open mic nights, people seem to relate to his music and has been told that he now finally found his voice and style that seems to be impressing many people on the live scene.

People seem to tap into the lyrics as each story he tells grips you from beggining to end and the moment you even think of switching off, some random twist takes place to keep you gripped again.

Paul sounds nothing like his influences, he rarely listens to music anyway so not to be influenced, he is the purple cow in a field of normal ones and stands out a mile with his funky melodies and intriguing lyrics.

This solo stuff is all new, fresh and exciting and he'll be throwing himself at every oportunity to get heard. He's definitely not your usual generic singer/songwriter and you'll see this when you see him play live.
