"Paul Zunno at the Red Lion, NYC"

If you want to hear the blues any three chords will do. If you wanna feel the Blues go see Paul Zunno. Its evident in every note he's not just a practiced musician but the master of the music he so obviously loves.

Don't expect an athletic stage show from his acoustic set - it's all about the music. This music was not just good bar music lending to great conversations. It even made the waitresses stop to watch and listen and I didn't even mind they stopped to watch before getting my order in.

Paul had no need for his band. His warm raspy voice filled the dark room that soon lit up with each strum of his guitar. He played @ The Red Lion solo for 2 hours with only a short break and another to fix a broken guitar string. He then hussled up to midtown to play with his full band. Goes to show - if you're a teacher - teach. If you're a salesman - sell. If you're a musician - Play.

Sitting with him between sets he's as friendly in person as he was on his Q's House appearance.

On the small raised stage patrons were treated to Paul Zunno Originals and blues-y covers of Los Lobos, John Mellencamp & Springstein. He seemingly had no set list and at times you couldn't tell where old standards ended and Paul Zunno began. His intros aren't wordy, "Here's a little song about a prostitute..." We're not here for spoken word anyway. We came to hear a man sing the Blues.

A glass of Booker Whiskey to Paul Zunno.

"Album Review"

The Honey Bee plays like a ride through the country, chugging along with accordian driven numbers like 'Blue Skies' and the lovely fingerpicking strains of 'Always Do'. This is a rootsy acoustic guitar romp revealing a songwriter/performer who has unabashed fun with his music and lyrics.

"The Honey Bee and Pronouced Zoo-no"

Zunno is one of those talented people who have the gift of being able to put deep thoughts into word and song, the only way to play Paul's album is to blast the hell out of your Hi-Fi and sod the neighbors. If you want to hear the true story of love and hate, this album has got it all. Its great to hear superb original lyrics and great new blues and rock sounds you haven't heard before. Both albums have 12 great original tracks that will impress any rock or blues enthusiast.

There is some great guitar work on these albums from Zunno and the back line.
Some absolutely superb rifts that will if you play make you
get your guitar out and join this session.
Well what can I say about the lyrics, this guy has a way with words.
Every track tells a story of love, hate and hope. If Paul could turn his hand to writing a book it would be a best seller. Luckily for us he has given us the chance to hear some of the best lyrics I've ever heard on a rock or blues album.

This guys music rocks with a new generation of rock and blues that will enthuse
new life in to the music scene, and will most certainly inspire new young musicians of the future.
Paul Zunno is currently playing lead guitar for rhythm and blues hall of fame member Wilson Pickett. He also appeared on the late show with David Letterman in support of Wilson Pickett's new album and has performed to thousands of fans throughout Europe and the United States. Lets hope that he will make it to the UK some time so we can get to let our hair down and rock to the great sound that is Paul Zunno
