Bio

Payton Klassen is an energetic 15 year old country singer / song writer who lives in Sherwood Park, Alberta. She has been singing ever since she could talk and loves to play her guitar and perform! Some of her idols are Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood.

Payton recently had the opportunity to travel to Nashville where she sang at the famous Tootsies and Whiskey Bent Saloons. While in Tennessee she competed at the North American Country Music Association International competition held in Pigeon Forge. Payton won the 2012 International Female Vocalist, Entertainer, Songwriter, Video and Duo categories (for 13-17 years of age). She has also won Global Country's Youth division in 2011 and received 2nd place in the 2010 Sherwood Park Talent Quest.

Payton has had the privilege to give back to the community by performing at charity events such as the World’s Longest Hockey Game, Kids Kottage Radiothon, Voices for Hope and A Song for Pyria. She was honored to sing "I Run for Life" at the CIBC Run for the Cure opening ceremonies in Edmonton in front of 10 000 people.

Some other highlights have been singing with a live band on the prestigious Winspear Stage and Oh Canada at Rexall Place for an Oil King’s hockey game. Payton has also had the privilege to perform this year at the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame during the Calgary Stampede and on the Rogers Family Stage at Big Valley Jamboree for the last two years.

Payton has also performed at Taste of Edmonton Safeway sponsored Pancake Breakfasts and the Taste of Leduc as part of the CCMA endorsed event, Picks & Sticks!

In addition to music Payton loves to ride horses and hang with her friends. She also regularly volunteers at a long term care facility.

Payton is pursuing her dream to become a country recording artist and loves writing new music. She is set to release a three song EP with award winning producer Bart McKay.
