Bio
Born May 20 1984, to Reba McGuffey, Anthony Jenkins become very proficient in music composition and performance very early. While P.D.As story is not riddled with tales of violence, abusive childhoods or inner-city angst, the musical origin of this Tulsa native is not a-typical of his hip hop brethren.
At the age of 13 he joined the Tulsa Youth Opera and performed in many off Broadway productions such as Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Aida. P.D.A's (which means Public Display of Afflection) love for music didnt stop there. He developed an instant appreciation for all genres of music. Some of his idols include Jim Croce, DJ Quik, Jody Gnant, Timbaland, Nancy Sinatra, and Billy Ocean. Just like hip hop, he began to weave these influences together to form his unique rap style. By the age of 14, he knew that he wanted a career in the music industry, but he never knew what for.
P.D.A continued to rap for the next few years but never took the genre seriously until about age 17. On his journey to get an album recorded, he came across Big Wolf Entertainment which (thankfully) accepted him into their family of artists, writers and producers. While currently in the lab working on his sophomore album: Act I The Next Concept, P.D.As unique style promises to breathe much needed life back into a genre that seems to be dying at her roots.
