Bio

PEACE is made up of Robert O’Connor, guitar & vocals, Tom Rosellini, guitar & vocals, Paul McGee, bass & vocals and Dave Harmon drums & vocals. Robert, a Chicago native, joined the Effigies in 1984, (see Allmusic.com/The Effigies), and released two full-length LPs on the Fever/Restless label. The Effigies opened shows with Run DMC at Chicago’s Vic Theatre and headlined shows from the Cabaret Metro in Chicago to Raj’s in Los Angeles. A US tour followed in 1986 that included dates with Flaming Lips, Jane’s Addiction, and Guns-N-Roses. A song co-authored by Robert became a club hit in Germany, which resulted in an offer for his band to join Metallica on their 1986/1987 European tour.
Also a Chicago native, Tom Rosellini grew up surrounded by the incredible variety of music coming out of Chicago at the time. After the usual assortment of garage bands, Tom partnered with another Chicago guitarist/songwritter to form Gypsy Run, an all-original band, in the vein of Blue Oyster Cult and Wishbone Ash. Gypsy Run soon became a Chicago favorite, playing classic local venues like The Thirsty Whale and Durty Nellie’s. The band generated a loyal following and enjoyed regional success for a time.
Originally from California, bassist Paul McGee is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, at home with many styles of music, including jazz, funk, blues, R&B and rock. Paul has lent his talents to many local recording projects and is a regular fixture at many Chicago “jam nights”. Paul proved to be the most difficult member of the band to find, but worth the wait!
Drummer Dave Harmon is originally from Lansing Michigan and grew up listening to local heros such as Ted Nudgent, Grand Funk Railroad and of course, Cream and The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Dave’s first Jr. High band formed when he was 13 and lasted an amazing 7 years! They enjoyed a large local following in the mid Michigan area, playing a combination of covers and originals at festivals and college campuses. More bands followed, which resulted in meeting guitarists’ Tom Rosellini and Robert O’Connor. When Dave suggested the music of Cream and Jimi Hendrix as fuel for a new tribute concept, both jumped at the chance and PEACE broke out!
If you’re a fan of true Classic Rock and the psychedelic era, experience PEACE, the midwest’s only Cream/Hendrix tribute!
