Bio

The Peachtree is a Hip-Hop/ Latin Rock band born in Aurora, IL during the late winter of 2008. Not trying to fulfill any particular genre but instead creating their own sound, The Peachtree has managed to reach a large number of fans that are just as eclectic as their own sound.

Jesus Diaz and Carlos Jacobo, the band’s founders and vocalists, had an idea to combine the basic rhythms of traditional rock with their own Hip-Hop sound. This combination created a unique sound that doesn’t fit any traditional genre, but has filled an area of long awaited need.

In early 2008, Jesus and Carlos reached out to local musicians Cristian Saenz and Chris Calderon to bring the live instrumentation to the Peachtree's unique approach. Later, original bassist Kevin Ozoa was added to complete the line up. The result of the 5 musicians' diverse musical influence would later help create the Peachtree's first EP as a band.

The premier album, “Did You Hear What I Said,” was released in May of 2010, its sound heavily influenced by Rage Against the Machine, Ozomatli, Goldfinger, Eric B and Rakim, Common, NOFX, Reel Big Fish, 311, Rancid, and De La Soul, among many others.

After the release of the "Did You Hear What I Said" Kevin left the band to pursue his career in the Air Force. Josh Byrd would later fill the gap that was created and bring once again a new range of musical background to help further continue the diverse influence that the Peachtree had come to be known for.

Currently the Peachtree is finishing up work on their Second EP which will be titled "El Segundo," Spanish for "The 2nd." The title reflects on where the Peachtree is in their career and hints at the influence that helped create it. The EP should be out before the end of the year 2012.

After the success of “Did You Hear What I Said,” The Peachtree wanted to expand its sound and include more Latin influences. The Peachtree’s new direction is to make the best use of their abilities, continue to create genuinely artistic music and to succeed by making the biggest impact possible in the music world.
