The Circle of Flowers

Written By: Rebecca Dale Peaden/Keith Marchetti

The Circle of Flowers
(c) April 2006, Rev Mar 2007, Rebecca Dale Peaden (BMI) / Keith Marchetti (BMI)

V1

Wildflowers from the boy next door
A purple orchid for her first dance
A single red rose at Valentines
At graduation - a dozen from her aunt

Tulips when she doesn't get that promotion
Twelve red roses when he proposes
Pink bouquets on her wedding day
Gardenias when her first home closes

Chorus:

The circle of flowers
winds like a grapevine
Thru sickness and health
The good and the bad times
The circle of flowers
God's gift to the world
Of every woman and begins
when she is just a girl

V2

Twelve roses mark their first year
Twenty-four when her twins are born
White carnations on Mother's Day
Lilies at the alter on Easter morn

Pansies with a smile when she's feeling down
A dozen roses when she's diagnosed
Twenty four more at the loss of her hair
Daisies on her tray beside her toast

Chorus:

The circle of flowers
winds like a grapevine
Thru sickness and health
The good and the bad times
The circle of flowers
God's gift to the world
Of every woman and begins
when she is just a girl

Bridge:

Sprays of flowers by her grave
Wildflowers from her mom
at Heaven's gate

Chorus:

The circle of flowers
winds like a grapevine
Thru sickness and health
The good and the bad times
The circle of flowers
God's gift to the world
Of every woman and begins
when she is just a girl

Here Without You

HERE WITHOUT YOU
© Feb 2006 Rebecca Peaden (BMI)/Germain Brunet (SOCAN)

HOW MANY SUMMER NIGHTS DID WE SPEND HERE
HOLDING HANDS GAZING INTO EACH OTHER’S EYES
ON THIS OLD FAMILIAR FISHING PIER
THIS WAS OUR PARADISE

WE WATCHED THOSE PERFECT SUNSETS PAINTED ACROSS THE SKY

CHORUS

BUT NOW THOSE SCARLET HUES
HAVE CHANGED TO SEPTEMBER BLUES
THE SKIES HAVE TURNED TO GREY
THE RAIN BEGINS TO POURS
THE WAVES CRASH TO THE SHORE
IT’S SUCH A DIFFERENT VIEW
HERE WITHOUT YOU, HERE WITHOUT YOU

I HEAR SOME FOOTSTEPS AND TURN AROUND
BUT THERE AIN’T A SOUL IN SIGHT
MUST BE WICKED WIND MAKING EERIE SOUNDS
ON SUCH A COLD AUTUMN NIGHT

I FEEL MY WORLD CAVE IN AS I LOOK UP TO THE SKY

CHORUS

AND NOW THOSE SCARLET HUES
HAVE CHANGED TO SEPTEMBER BLUES
THE SKIES HAVE TURNED TO GREY
THE RAIN BEGINS TO POURS
THE WAVES CRASH TO THE SHORE
IT’S SUCH A DIFFERENT VIEW
HERE WITHOUT YOU, HERE WITHOUT YOU

What Planet?

Written By: Rebecca Dale Peaden/Mike Taylor

What Planet
© March 2007, Rebecca Dale Peaden (BMI)/Mike Taylor (BMI)

Sitting at the bar, minding my own business, not looking for company
Tired of those hillbilly Romeos that are always hitting on me
Cowboy, you're wearin' those skin tight jeans - say you'll fly me to the moon
But I can tell by lookin‘ that your rocket would burn out too soon

Chorus:

What planet did you say you’re from?
Is it Mars or Venus, boy--or the Planet DUMB?
You're talkin’ from Uranus--like you’re an alien, son
What planet did you say you’re from?

Walking thru the mall, looking in the windows, just wanna be left alone
Over my shoulder I hear a loud whistle-- like that's gonna turn me on
A beer belly wearing a John Deere cap winks and blows a kiss
I see his wife swingin’ back her purse, and she ain't gonna miss

Chorus:

What planet did you say you’re from?
Is it Mars or Venus, boy--or the Planet DUMB?
You're talkin’ from Uranus--like you’re an alien, son
What planet did you say you’re from?

Bridge:

Don’t get me wrong—I've met guys
who banged my gong and rang my chimes
But beware if a dude starts messing
And treats me like window dressing - I’m gonna yell out...

Chorus:

What planet did you say you’re from?
Is it Mars or Venus, boy--or the Planet DUMB?
You're talkin’ from Uranus--like you’re an alien, son?
What planet did you say you’re from?

Mississippi

Mississippi

Rebecca Dale Peaden (BMI)/Dimitri Birioukov - Demo by MagicShack Productions, Inc., Murfreesboro, TN (Instruments - Jason Roller, Vocals - Dennis Parker)

My roots are in the land of hospitality
And when I can't be there I turn to memories
Of rocking on long porches, drinking ice cold tea
And naps on lawns of Antebellum homes
There's sweet magnolias and buzzing honeybees
Mockingbirds singing and sounds of Mardi Gras
Dark muddy waters with swamp-soaked trees
And large mouth bass in the land of Chickasaw

Chorus:

Mississippi, beautiful State of mine
Mississippi, your graceful spirit shines
When I close my eyes, I can feel you in my soul
Mississippi, you are with me all the time

Shrimp boats trawl 'neath a lazy summer moon
I can almost taste the gumbo and jumbalaya too
Rambling cotton fields, crepe myrtles in full bloom
Tho I'm away my heart belongs to you

Chorus:

Mississippi, beautiful State of mine
Mississippi, your graceful spirit shines
When I close my eyes, I can feel you in my soul
Mississippi, you are with me all the time

Outtro:

When I close my eyes I can feel you in my soul
Mississippi, you are with me all the time
Mississippi, you are with me all the time

Eufaula

Written By: Peaden/Taylor

Eufaula
© April 2007 Rebecca Dale Peaden (BMI)/Mike Taylor (BMI)

The Santa Ana’s are blowing
So I'll have to park my load
It'll be at least a couple of days
Before I get back on the road
So I'll crawl in the back
Put on our favorite song
Fall asleep and dream of her
all night long

Chorus:

Cause when I dream
We're in Eufaula
Swinging on the porch
Me and my sweet Paula
The kids have been fed
Tucked safely in bed
It's just like they never left
I smile in my sleep
And dream of Eufaula

I dropped by their new home
On a run from Atlanta to Maine
She tried too hard to be polite
'cause she's got someone else's name
Life on the road is tough
She did more than her share
She kept our family together
When I wasn't there

Chorus:

And when I dream
We're in Eufaula
Swinging on the porch
Me and my sweet Paula
The kids have been fed
Tucked safely in bed
It's just like they never left
I smile in my sleep
When I dream

Bridge:

I've got nothin' but time
to think of regrets
The only thing waitin' on me
Is more coffee and cigarettes

Chorus:

But when I dream
We're in Eufaula
Swinging on the porch
Me and my sweet Paula
The kids have been fed
Tucked safely in bed
It's just like they never left
I smile in my sleep
When I dream

God's Country Roses

Written By: Rebecca Dale Peaden/Moker Jarrett

God's Country Roses
(c) Jan 2007, Rev Jul 2007, Rebecca Dale Peaden (BMI)/Moker Jarrett (ASCAP), Demo by Magicshackdemos.com, Murfreesboro, TN (Jason Roller - Instruments/harmonies and Dennis Parker - Vocalist)

When she was a just little girl
She listened to Tammy Wynette
Patsy Cline and Dottie West
Oh, but she loved Loretta best

Mama said they're like a fragrance
some are delicate and mild
some are strong - and some are wild
Yea they got their own style

Chorus:

They're God's Country Roses
Blossoming along the way
Growing stronger each day
If they were gathered on stage
It'd be a colorful bouquet
They're God's Country Roses

She turned ten and got her first guitar
She learned to play along
Cut her teeth on those old songs
Yea it felt good - like she belonged..

And listening to Dolly's tunes
Got her to writin' a few
Singin' Allison and Emmy Lou
And Reba turned her voice into

Chorus:

one of God's Country Roses
Blossoming along the way
Growing stronger each day
If they were gathered on stage
she'd be part of that colorful bouquet
They're God's Country Roses

Bridge:

Oh, I can't imagine a world
Without those beautiful girls
Even George and Conway knew
What a Country Rose could do

Chorus: 2X

They're God's Country Roses
Blossoming along the way
Growing stronger each day
If they were gathered on stage
It'd be a colorful bouquet
They're God's Country Roses

Don't Mess With My Stuff

Written By: Rebecca Dale Peaden/Mike Taylor/Pamela Denise Denson

Don't Mess With My Stuff
(c) May 2007 Mike Taylor (BMI)/Peaden (BMI)/Denson (BMI)

When April rolls around, you get that gleam in your eye
The weather's warmin' up, yard sales are on the rise
You been sneakin' 'round the house sizin' up my things
'Cause you want to go to Vegas-- you hear ca-ching ca-ching...

Chorus:

Don't mess with my stuff
Don't touch my treasures
They bring me so much pleasure
and I don't ask for much
You'd make a nickle and a dime from
My diamonds in the rough
Girl, I've had enough!
Don't mess with my stuff

I'm gonna guard my stack of Playboys from 1981
and hide my ole stuffed Jackalope I bagged near Yellowstone
See that rusted Lawnboy and the broken Evenrude?
Well, I get sentimental--they're like my family jewels, so...

Chorus:

Don't mess with my stuff
Don't touch my treasures
They bring me so much pleasure
and I don't ask for much
You'd make a nickle and a dime from
My diamonds in the rough
Girl, I've had enough!
Don't mess with my stuff

Bridge:

I know my barrell of bull horns needs some elbow grease
But I might sell' em all on Ebay for 100 bucks apiece
and my 57 Buick was built just like a tank
I've got most the pieces now--it's like money in the bank , so...

Chorus:

Don't mess with my stuff
Don't touch my treasures
They bring me so much pleasure
and I don't ask for much
You'd make a nickle and a dime from
My diamonds in the rough
Girl, I've had enough!
Don't mess with my stuff

The Apple Barn

Written By: Rebecca Dale Peaden/Moker Jarrett

The Apple Barn
(c) Rebecca Dale Peaden (BMI)/Moker Jarrett (ASCAP)

I was needin' a break - I'd had all I could take - of my hillbilly roommate
Then he asked me if I - wanted to take a ride - give something new a try
I grabbed some clothes - we hit the road - I slept while he drove
Woke up to a honking horn - and I'll be darn - if we were'nt sitting on a farm

He said it's picking time - and you'll do fine - folks need to make wine
And pawpaw and pops - they got a big crop - and they're in a spot
And "hey slick" - that chick's my sister - she'll cut you to the quick
I thought hmmm all's not lost - with my fingers crossed - I'll melt that frost

Chorus:

Harvest time in the Apple Barn
It was instant chemistry for me
Can't think of anywhere I'd rather be stuck
Making wine and memories

Well I never worked so hard - but it was in the cards - she let down her guard
We spent days picking fruit - drinking fresh apple juice - and nights in a sweet pursuit
And I couldn't help but stare - at her auburn hair - yeah we made a good pair
And when the stars were aligned - we both saw the signs - guess she read my mind

Chorus:

Harvest time in the Apple Barn
It was instant chemistry for me
Can't think of anywhere I'd rather be stuck
Making wine and memories

Bridge:

Ten years and two kids later
I watchem' from the tractor
As she drives'em 'round in the gator
I smile when I hear their laughter

Chorus:

Harvest time in the Apple Barn
It was instant chemistry for me
Can't think of anywhere I'd rather be stuck
Making wine and memories

The Little Things You Do

Written By: Rebecca Dale Peaden/Dimitri Birioukov

It’s the Little Things You Do
(c) July 2006, Rebecca Dale Peaden (BMI) / Dimitri Birioukov

Did I ever tell you...
You have a graceful style
And just saying your name makes me smile?
Did I ever tell you...
I love your apple pie
And how you match my shirts with the ties?
Did I, did I, did I...?

Chorus:

It's the little things you do
That make it easy for me to love you
It's the little things you do
Each day I’m finding something new
It's the little things you do
That make me hurry home to you
It’s the little things you do
There are so many...
And here are just a few…

Did I ever tell you...
You still look great in jeans
And I love it when you hum while you clean?
Did I ever tell you...
Your hair glistens in the sun
And I still think I’m the fortunate one?
Did I, did I, did I...?

Chorus:

It's the little things you do
That make it easy for me to love you
It's the little things you do
Each day I’m finding something new
It's the little things you do
That make me hurry home to you
It’s the little things you do
There are so many...
And here are just a few…

Did I ever tell you...
You are charmingly beautiful
And the way you move is rhythmically musical?
Did I ever tell you...
I'm so glad we walked down the isle
And thank you for having our beautiful child?
Did I, did I, did I..?.

Chorus:

It's the little things you do
That make it easy for me to love you
It's the little things you do
Each day I’m finding something new
It's the little things you do
That make me hurry home to you
It’s the little things you do
There are so many...
These are just a few…
