Feeling a bit camera shy

Hailing from Canton, Georgia - just 30 minutes North of Atlanta - the Pea Ridge City Council have been reminding folks exactly what it means to rock. The music is rooted deep in the blues and old time country, but strives far from those traditional sounds with modern rock, jazz, and alternative influences breathing new life into a sound older than rock and roll itself. Sometimes they got Sticky Fingers and other times they're a little bit on the Dark Side of the Moon.

Jess Hopkins and Scott Puckett played little league together. Serendipity brought them together again at an open mic and they began playing acoustic guitar at open mics regularly. After a short time, inspired by a famous Band recording, Jess realized the full potential of what the duo had started. He decided to bring in the best bass player and drummer he knew; Drew Lawson and Preston Corn respectively. Corn invited keyboardist B.J. Richardson and the five musicians from Canton formed the Pea Ridge City Council.

Quietly they've formed a loyal, local fanbase by performing weekly in downtown Canton and metro Atlanta. The music has been compared to Wilco and Widespread Panic. They've been called a cross between Johnny Cash and the Meters. The Pea Ridge City Council are a working band with a good time attitude. Many a night have the fans had to be kicked out of the bar.
