Bio
The city has a heart and its beating passionately in the form of London soulful electro-pop duo Pearl Apollo. Featuring the lush voice and electrifying performances of Tanya Auclair fired by guitarist-producer-Victorian gent The Horse. Tanya grew up by the Great West Road - bright-eyed and exotic, she defies classification. The Horse was reared on a farm in Devon.
A true 21st century blend - expect flashes of 70's funk, glitchy minimal beats, sparkling cold war synth layers and infectious choruses. Pearl Apollo shimmers and burns with an unmistakable honesty and magic.
Influences range from The Eurythmics and Womack & Womack, to the quirk of Talking Heads, delicacy of Bjork and the dancefloor strut of Roisin Murphy.
Both former members of indie-soul band Elova, Tanya and The Horse have been rocking crowds from adventures on tour with One Taste of the UK festivals such as Glastonbury, Big Chill and Secret Garden, a spotlight feature on Sky TV, release of 2 EPs and an album (produced by ex-bjork producer KK), sell-out shows at London's top venues such as the Jazz Cafe and Cargo, to taking to the streets with guerilla-style block parties in East London.
Next up Pearl Apollo will be supporting Ebony Bones and Little Dragon in Hyde Park.
